Taking your company brand to the next level

I'm sure you heard the need to create a special mark or image for your company. Your brand is the image that your customers think of when they think of your product. Have you ever studied the brands of large companies? If you have a good look at what corporations are doing with their brands, you get a better understanding of what it takes to get your picture in front of your prospects.

Since a small business owner since 1995, I learnedmuch about creating a logo for my business. I understand that your logo, your photos, your colors are all part of your brand. I also learned that I must put my mark on all my marketing materials. However, I do not think really fully understand the entire scope of branding, until a few years.

I was with a group of developers and designers together to create a new web application for Adidas. Many people know brand Adidas is black and white, with threeDiagonal. Everything my son, who ran black Adidas with white stripes somewhere on that point. For example, he performed blacks Warm-up pants with three stripes on the sides of his pants. His football boots are black with three diagonal stripes on the outside of the tunnel.

But if the design team for this web application with a black, gray and white design for new applications, Adidas croaked. Apparently it was not the look, wouldfor. Come to find out, Adidas has added another piece of their brand colors. It 'really great.

The design Adidas finally agreed on a certain shade of blue with bubbles contain anywhere. These bubbles or circles were used in the form of their buttons, their link spacers, their website and their impact on the background frames for pictures.

I was curious about all these bubbles.

One day I went shoppingMy daughter and I noticed a connection. He picked up a package of socks he wanted. Were dotted with pastel or bubbles all over them. One of the couples was blue, the blue we were accurate in a web application using. I noticed on the package that were Adidas.

It was then that struck me. If Adidas is with color strips her black outside, they know how to use this instead of bubbles. After all, sometimes in black and whitedoes not work, especially if you're a girl. I went to the store and sure enough, all made by Adidas in the girl was with pastel bubbles on them. It 'was awesome branding in action.

I went to the kids section. All done by Adidas was over black with white stripes.

Returning to website design

Once we have the new web application and made the public and the world, I had noticed that AdidasAmendments to their main website. On its website, has many of the same look and feel features that are in a web application. This has helped to rationalize the brand in action and their clients make the connection between adidas and their new web application.

Additional features

Adidas also has a character they have created signature limited to their own use. You use this font anywhere. The blue exact people that were made on an application, seeon each Web page that they own. The bubble was made all the key pages moved to the web.

But I was still curious about all the bubbles. What happened to the strip?

The stripes are still there, but they contain the bubbles in their mark as well. Studying their websites, I realized that the bubbles are actually representations of balls. In many cases, with a picture or a page rebounds.The strips seem to represent power or speed, while the bubbles are the balls, their customers use to enjoy their free time while wearing his clothes Adidas.

Summer Fun holiday with children

For children, a seemingly endless vacation time to play, but for weeks the adults in the school holidays stretching in front of them can be a frightening thought.

One might ask, as indicated in the fight against the perennial "I'm bored" statement. Here are some activities that keep you secure your small (or large) are happy and busy, and that a low-stress holiday for you. And even better, most of the cost of such activities, nothing.

Have an adventure
* An excursion - there areNothing like getting a bush walk through one of our national parks great for kids interested in nature. Report various trees and flowers, trying to climb the hunting of animals and insects, or some tree, if you game.
* City exploration - if you are anywhere close to Bush, try to watch the city from a different perspective. Find historical marker to go to create your story, or see the horizon and switch between the highest points. Being a visit and tourist informationCenter to learn more about where you live.
* Photography - Take your camera with the kids and let them take pictures of yourself, try to closeups of flowers and butterflies and landmarks known as a beacon, a platform of rock, skyscraper or train station.

Entertainment home
If it rains or your budget is very tight, try these activities at home to entertain for hours:
homemade pizza kitchen * -, muffins and cookies are easy and fun for children to helpCook, eat and get the results at the end!
* Arts & Crafts - try finger painting, color images printed from the Internet, creating block prints cut shapes cut from potatoes and stamping on paper, to construct models of clay or papier-mâché figures or furniture forms of colored cardboard. Going a step forward and a piñata filled with candy and toys and invite friends to the party fun. The more adventurous can try, like a dragon and thenwhere to fly around the park.
* Exterior - Kids love bubbles and are so easy to make, forms detergent in water and bent wire. With chalk to draw a bell on the ground floor or driveway for a trip back in history for you, and a retro game for them. Building a garden with children and buy some plants or seeds, so they can see their plants grow. Great facilities for children are sunflowers and tomatoes, because they see results, or mayRadishes and lettuce, because they grow quickly. Even better, if you grow edible plants you all enjoy the fruits of your labor.
* Inside - cubby houses built of old boxes and sheets and blankets, children are entertained for hours and you can even invite their friends to a tea party in the glove compartment.

A car
* Library - Take children to your local library and find your books, CDs and DVDs for the duration of the permit to expand their young minds.
* Wild LifePark / Zoo / Aquarium - a mini-tour to teach your children about the flora and fauna of Australia, in a fun environment.
* Beach, skating, miniature golf, art shows, museums and cinemas.

Make your vacation experience and your children (or your grandchildren) will be sad to see the end of their break.

The Advantages of Autism

My husband and I are the sometimes-proud, sometimes-mortified parents of a four-and-a-half year old boy, Jonah, who has autism. Jonah is a bright, mischievous, affectionate, challenging, monkey of a kid. We love him and are managing our somewhat unusual lives pretty well. With autism, though, everything can seem like a challenge: meals, bath time, car trips, birthday parties, you name it.

Among other things, Jonah doesn't talk and he doesn't understand normal social cues. He'll walk up to a stranger at the park and rifle through her picnic basket. He'll climb up a playground slide without taking note of whether or not some kid is poised to slide down right into him. Every time he hears the song "Happy Birthday to You," he marches up to the place of honor, ready to blow out the candles and tear into cake. When prevented, distracted, or redirected away from these activities, a tantrum is the likely result. And when the tantrum is in public, there's usually the added fun of strangers' stares, glares, and disapproving glances. I could go on...but this article isn't about what autism is, or how it is difficult, or why its occurrence has risen to epidemic proportions. It's about the advantages of autism. And really, there are several.

I have to admit right off the bat: I'm only being half-facetious when I say we fully intend to cash in on any and all emergent savant skills, like in the Las Vegas scene from Rain Man -- but that doesn't seem likely since they say only 10% or so of autists have these skills. Oh, well. Winning ridiculous amounts of money counting cards isn't everything, I suppose. Good thing there are other things we can enjoy right now.

One is innocence. While other kids his age have "moved on" to superheroes and swords, our son still loves bubbles and blocks. While his peers have discarded traditional kids' songs for pop music, Jonah still happily requests "Wheels on the Bus" - and does all the hand motions too. He doesn't watch commercials then demand whatever toy or gadget or breakfast cereal was advertised. He doesn't understand the concept of Christmas or birthdays, at least not in the way other kids do, so he's perfectly happy with a few toys and something yummy to eat.

When our son is fully enjoying himself, there is no one as uninhibitedly delighted. A joyful Jonah is a beautiful sight. He is never embarrassed or self-conscious about what he is doing, and it shows. What you get is a child largely unaffected by most things that can't help but affect the consciousness of other kids: bad news on TV, anxiety about dad leaving for work, fear of the boogeyman under the bed. In a sense, autism protects him from much of the normal worry, apprehension, and insecurity of being an almost-five-year-old kid.

Also, people have told us he's especially entertaining to watch - and we can see why; the way he interacts with his environment is undeniably interesting. We consider it an advantage to have a child who sees the world through a somehow different lens. He'll hold his fingers up to his eyes to catch an interesting visual, or cock his head to the side and look at things from an angle. He adores kaleidoscopes and spinning toys and flashlights and seems to see them in a way the rest of us can't. He teaches us to stop, look, and listen to things in a manner that may never have occurred to us before.

There are advantages, even, to his silence. Though we'd love for him to learn to talk and are doing everything we can to help him learn to communicate verbally, it is nice to know he's not going to start yelling obscenities in the mall or call the cops and tell them our house is on fire. He may perseverate on the light switch by turning it on and off a thousand times, but we're never subjected to endless repetitions of movie quotes, nursery rhymes, or some random snippet of something he heard on TV.

In fact, we've come to find that for every challenge we face with Jonah, we're presented an unexpected, precious, and often humorous gift. The gifts are what keep us going - for, as with everything in life, they balance out the bad and show us our son and situation in an ever-changing, beautiful light.

And perhaps that balance is, really, the greatest gift of all.
