Ultimate Star Wars Replica Costumes

I've never seen as replicas of Star Wars. To me they were just toys. Despite all that Star Wars was just one of the best games we have known. Almost every day after school, we would gather to play the scenes. While cowboys and Indians, cops and robbers, and other typical childhood games boring - Star Wars never seemed stale. I ask you, what child is not to save the world from powerful forces of evil dreams?

The toys are fun in many ways. AsYou get older, you can go completely, or begin a serious interest in winning. For me, I was almost obsessed. The assortment of Star Wars replicas, who had grown up without reserve and in recent years have become more intense with the creations of episodes from one to three. Although I like the new Star Wars, nothing beats the original classic. For this reason, it's good for the Lucas movie rereleasing a series of Star Wars replica models are linked to the originalMovies. Currently I have a small X-Wing Fighter Pilot helmet to my helmet of Darth Vader Storm Trooper suits and costumes. I have no idea if one day my performances worth something. I am convinced that the old Star Wars toys I own, but that's not why I collect. These elements represent the passion I feel for the Star Wars movies.

When it comes to epic fantasy, nothing compares to Star Wars. People have written epic poems dealing with good and evil,But none of this magnitude in the movies had become. That's why many fans of the movies for Star Wars mad replica models are, as the story is so well known and popular. The evil of the dark side is strong enough to eliminate the planet on a whim, when the rebellion is fighting bravely to save the rest of the universe from chaos.

However, if you are just starting to collect replicas of Star Wars, then the best place to start is with the new versions of the original toys. After allWhat is a collection of Star Wars like no other by Luke Skywalker and Hans Solo, Chewbacca and R2-D2? Before we ever saw Yoda in a lightsaber battle, he was fighting evil with young Luke Skywalker how to use power effectively.

Playing Dress Up Barbie

Boys have teddy bears and action figures while girls have dolls. Not much has changed throughout the years even if computer games have been invented because there should always be something that distinguishes between being masculine and feminine.

One of the most popular dolls ever to hit the market is Barbie. The physical characteristics of this toy has not changed and girls can buy one and then just buy the accessories such as the clothes and shoes making Barbie fashionable for any occasion.

Barbie can be purchased at the toy section of the department store, other retail outlets and even online from the official company website. This allows the girl to go for other items including the dollhouse, the car, the boat and Ken so the girl can let the couple go off on a romantic adventure.

Since the doll itself doesn't age, the kid can prepare Barbie with clothes for the first day of school, partying at the beach or attending a formal ball. There are so many places this doll can go turning the mannequin from the girl next door to the life of the party.

If the cost of getting the additional accessories is too expensive, there is another way to play dress up Barbie. The developers of this toy have also made it available online so the child can choose which clothes to wear and then drag this to Barbie. This can be interchanged over and over again if the look isn't quite right.

There are over 5 different games online which even includes putting the right shade of makeup and lipstick. Now, that is something that can't be done with the doll in one's hand.

Whichever mode of dress up Barbie the girl chooses to play, the experience itself promises to be both fun and exciting. It can help a girl learn to choose the right clothes to wear given the occasion at the same time teach child what is fashionable and what is not when it is also time to find the appropriate outfit for going out.

Barbie is known throughout the world. In fact, this doll is even sold wearing the native outfit of the country. With the Christmas season coming, perhaps this will be a nice gift to the little girl so the child will also be able to enjoy the wonders of playing dress up like mom once did as a child.

1965 Mustang Pedal Cars

The 1965 Mustang pedal car is among the most popular pedal cars ever. Originally built by AMF for Ford, the Mustang pedal car was produced from 1965 to 1972. Today, these original models command premium prices, especially in original or restored conditions. Over 93,000 pedal versions of the 1965 Mustang were sold in its first year; the pedal toy was as much of a runaway hit as the real version. Originally designed as an advertising promotion, it was sold in Ford Dealerships around the United States for a discounted price of just $12.95 per car, and in toy stores for $25, about the going price of a pedal car during that era.

For more than 30 years, no steel Mustang pedal toys were being produced. During this time, steel gave way to plastic for the manufacturing of ride-on toys, leading the initial manufacturer, AMF, to sell the tools for making the cars. These newer pedal toys had a cartoon-like aesthetic and were generally designed to be fantasy cars, not modeled after a specific real-life car. They lacked the realistic details of such models as the 1965 Mustang and other popular pedal toys designed after real car models.

The design for the 1965 Mustang pedal toy remained unused for over twenty years until it was rediscovered in Mexico in 2004 by Mark Luzaich, owner of pedal car manufacturer Warehouse 36. After re-discovering the original tooling for the AMF Mustang, the original design is again being produced today, over forty years since its original release. This steel car uses the exact same design as the famous 1965 Mustang pedal toy of the 1960's and early 1970's, with all of the original tooling, down to the Mustang horse on the front grille. The first cars of this new wave were produced in 2005, timed to coincide with the redesigned 2005 Ford Mustang. Because they are made of steel, not plastic, they are built to withstand generations of children.

These authentic pedal toys are coveted by collectors who can't get their hands on one of the originals. Not only pedal car collectors, but also fans of the real 1965 Ford Mustang car, enjoy this new version. These attention-getting models also make great gifts for a new generation of children. They are loved by car lovers of all ages, kids and adults alike, who enjoy the styling of this classic car.

Today's version of the AMF 1965 Mustang features all of the original details, including chromed hubcaps, that made the original version of the '65 Mustang one of the most popular pedal toys ever. Despite the numerous changes in standards for children's toys since the 1960, this new version features an identical exterior, with Mustang markings on the body, all-steel construction, and a clear windshield. In fact, many have noted that the only difference between the 1960's version and today's version is the price, which has increased due to inflation. Today, these nostalgic cars are produced in red or blue, and are fully licensed by Ford.

Which Wheels and Oils Are the Most Suitable For Model Train Operation?

If you have a choice of buying model trains with plastic wheels or metal wheels, always choose metal wheels. If your trains have plastic wheels you may want to look at replacing them. Metal wheels typically run more smoothly and provide less resistance. They also stay cleaner for longer as does the track they run on.

Plastic Wheels, like you find on toy train sets, are usually injection molded and are mass produced for price, rather than quality or reliability. They are also inclined to leave plastic residue on the track, which needs to be cleaned off regularly. Overall, they can be very troublesome.

The good news is; metal wheels have become less expensive over the past few years. So, if you have plastic wheels, now could be a good time to look for metal replacements.

Another suggestion is not to oil the track if you operate with plastic. Although products like Wahl Hair Clipper Oil are used by many model railroaders; applying oils to plastic is not generally recommended, as the plastic can react with the oil. This could mean more cleaning and damage to the wheels over the longer term.

Oils and lubricants are a useful tool in any model railroader's toolbox. You just need to use oils with caution and moderation, and use the correct ones for the job.

Companies like LaBelle do make plastic compatible oils, but I still prefer to stick with metal wheels as they are far more reliable. Labelle Oil Medium is best for wheel bearings and the armature. The oil is available in small plastic bottles with a needle point applicator for accurate application. The LaBelle Light Oil can be applied to side rods, push rods and train axle bearings.

Using too much lubricant can damage a commutator over time. What happens is; the oil lubricant is vaporized and the heat bakes it on to the surface of the commutator. This then, lowers the overall performance.

A worn commutator usually reveals signs of heat and arcing after long term use.

If your train motor is not working well, it may need higher voltages than would normally be expected, hence the 'arcing.' An under-performing motor will mean more resistance and need higher transformer voltages for train operation.

Wahls Clipper oil is another one used by many in the hobby. It can be applied each month with a cloth for keeping tracks in good condition. Wahls Clipper oil needs to be applied carefully and then thoroughly cleaned off using a dry cloth. If your tracks are really dirty you could remove the worst dirt and grime with lighter fluid and/or Brite Boy. If you keep your tracks clean you will probably experience 'less sparking' from the contact wheels on the track.

In summary; use metal wheels over plastic, and use the correct oils and lubricants carefully and sparingly. This will help your trains last much longer and make for smooth model train operation.

Model Trains - Toys, Models Or Miniature Works of Art?

The interest in model railways has seen a huge increase over the last few years, and especially in recent months. The recent increase in popularity, particularly in the UK, has been put down to the credit crunch forcing people to get involved in more 'home based' and 'family oriented' activities, rather than days or evenings out.

The quality of model trains has also improved enormously over the last few years. Having gone from tin plate, through basic plastic injection moulding, some of today's models are highly intricate works of model engineering, with impressive amounts of detailing. This attention to detail really captures the character and feel of the prototype locomotive, coach item of rolling stock being modelled.

Some of the more recent Hornby trains are particularly fine model trains with magnificent detail. No longer are these models just simple plastic mouldings, with all the detail cast into the main moulding, these newer models are intricately made up of many different parts. For example, the recently released Hornby Schools Class shows an entirely reworked model. The firebox, boiler and dome are all cast in metal, whilst the smokebox, running plate, cab, chimney and smoke deflectors are plastic.

The locomotive features plenty of accurate rivet detail and there are plenty of separately fitted items, such as brass safety valves, clack valves, nameplate, chimney and wire handrails.

However, perhaps the most stunning area of the model is the one that will most likely be hidden from view. That is the cab interior and boiler backhead. The quality of the cab instruments, control levers and wheels is amazing. The calibrations on the gauges are legible under a magnifying glass, and the water gauge glasses, regulator, reverser and atomiser are miniature works of art.

So the question is will models of this quality be run on layouts by young children, or are these models now intended for collectors to display proudly? Certainly these new, highly detailed models do look magnificent on display but also look magnificent on a highly detailed layout.

Hornby have obviously thought of this as they often produce Limited Edition models, clearly aimed at the collector. In 2008 they produce the British Rail 4-6-2 West Country Class 'Bude'. This was released to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the formation of British Railways. 2008 limited edition models were produced, each with a numbered certificate of authentication. This particular locomotive was chosen as it took part in the locomotive trials in 1948, where different pairings of locomotive and tender were tested to see how they performed outside their normal regions.

With the advent of Digital Control, (DCC) locomotives now feature working lights that stay on and also sound. These locomotives are obviously meant to be worked on layouts to add extra dimensions to the operation of the layout, and also as an added experience for the observers.

In contrast to this, Hornby also have a range of models aimed at the younger enthusiast known as the RailRoad range. These models are devoid of the easily damaged detail parts that adorn the new super detailed models. The Hornby RailRoad range also offers a simple and cost effective way of getting into the hobby.

So summing up. Are model trains toys, models or miniature works of art? The quality of some of the recent models could well be classed as works of art. Many people still believe to this day that steam locomotives were works of art and these new models faithfully reproduce the character of the originals. However, how many children still get delight from operating their first train set? These are the ones that go on to become enthusiasts and collectors as they grow older.

I suppose the answer is Yes to all three!

Collection of old toys

If you collect old toys, you are just one of many collectors around the world. What was once an obscure niche communities is really blossomed in recent years, some groups contain 'everywhere.

Business customer online and in person. And you might be shocked to discover what might be some seemingly harmless toys to draw on the global market. Even within the categories of collectors of toys, there's a lot of money to find.

Nicheis the collection of Barbie dolls. Barbie has a very long time and has been increasingly popular over the previous year. Not surprisingly, the number of games out there and the excitement following their collection and sale.

Another popular vintage-toy is the classic jack-in-the-box. This is another subcategory of collectors, because they were very popular at one point in time, but have all but obsolete in modern times. But the ancients didincreased in popularity in relation to their darkness.

Another class of collectors toy is a subset of baseball memorabilia. From baseball cards, balls and gloves, including baseball-style Windups or even models, this type of toys never seem to go down in popularity. This is for collectors who rarely see their investments lose value enjoyable.

Some people believe that the value of a toy is destroyed if it is not in the outermost regions State. This is not necessarily true. Toys have some scratches or scratches and still extremely valuable for some people. The value is related not only to care for the particular item.

The collection of antique toys and other toys, it just seems more and more popular over time. Who knows why. It may be that more adult nostalgia for times past, or it may just be more interested in things that seem to increase in value. In any case,Toy> Collection is something to be forever and ever and seems to be coming for some time.

Doll House Play

Doll House Play - doll houses can be very useful in encouraging imaginative play in your children. Our technological modern life can easily leave little time for childhood imaginative play and can also stunt our children's ability to author their own creative play.

Modern children are often accustomed to manufactured toys with defined purposes, television and films that present someone else's imagination, computers that use other people's programs, and classes in dance or sports in which someone instructs them in what to do. As parents we must strive to nurture our children's ability to engage in creative, imaginative play.

Child directed imaginative play fosters and builds creativity. Creativity will serve your children their whole lives. Creativity allows us to see new solutions to problems, see the "light at the end of the tunnel", envision new inventions and the list goes on. We give our children the ability to create their own lives when we allow them as children to create their own play.

Dolls houses are perfect for imaginative play. They give our children basic objects that they come into contact with every day but allows them the opportunity to do what they want with them. Many children when playing with a dolls house will make up their own families, scenarios and games. You may see your child bring a teddy bear into play with their doll family, they are not restricted in the items they play with and this allows them to be creative.

Many children will put the bathroom furniture in the bedroom or kitchen simply because they see it as being easier to use there. They use logic and if you sit and talk to them while they play you will be amazed at the ideas they come up with. Develop your child's creativity early on and it will serve them all through their lives.

A History of Dolls

Definition of Doll:
A child's (usually small) toy having the likeness of a human.
A pretty child.

"Nothing that grieves us can be called little: by the eternal laws of proportion a child's loss of a doll and a king's loss of a crown are events of the same size."
Mark Twain

Dolls are prolific. The very existence of the doll coincides with the dawn of human civilization itself. Pre-historic dolls might have been crudely forged from whatever material could be easily fashioned into a desired likeness. Utilized in ancient times as the representation of a deity, dolls played a significant role in ceremonies, and rituals, related to religion. Historically speaking, dolls have taken on several different figures, and a variety of unique forms. A tangible child's toy, most dolls embody the representation of a baby, or other human being. Dolls designed to resemble animals, or imaginary creatures have also risen in popularity with the progression of time. Throughout history dolls have evolved right along with the time period, often replicating the latest trends in fashion and style. As technology advanced, so also did the method of doll creation which eventually gave way to the simplified mass production of dolls. The historical popularity of dolls is not limited exclusively to children. Dolls in existence before the 1700's were not solely considered to be the playthings of children; they were also designed for adults. These particular dolls were not only dressed like adults, they were shaped like an adult also. Ancient dolls were found to have resembled sculptures more closely than their toy counterparts. Dolls are not geographically isolated either. Children in all cultures, of all races spread throughout the earth seem to enjoy playing with "little play people."

Many different types of dolls have been discovered strewn within the relics of ancient civilizations. Considered to be cult objects by primitive people, well preserved dolls fashioned out of stone, wood, clay, bone, ivory, and bronze have been found in Egypt, Greece, and Rome. Dolls were thought to be used in a symbolic nature, but also as toys for their children. There are even examples of puppets with movable arms and legs, which have been found in what would have been ancient Greece. Crochet dolls, some of which considered artistic masterpieces were utilized as representations of the nativity in Roman Catholicism. Fifteenth century fashion dolls gained popularity as gifts amongst the monarchy and its courtiers. Surprisingly these fashion dolls also played a significant role in the spread of various styles of costume. Dolls brought over to the American colonies mirrored current trends in fashion and even modeled the latest hairstyles, exemplifying the current European culture in miniature. Where dolls are concerned, a child's gender was not an issue. Seventeenth century dolls were played with by both boys, and girls. At this particular time in history Sonneberg, Germany came to be recognized as a sort of hub in the manufacture of wooden dolls. Keeping in line with their tradition, this same town later became a leading producer of the heads for dolls. These heads were made of china by the dawn of the nineteenth century. The Parisian doll industry began developing dolls that could close their eyes, and speak around this time also. The fact that the Parisian doll industry also specialized in the manufacture of "high fashion" dolls also, surprises me very little. The utilization of papier-mâché as a doll manufacturing material early in the nineteenth century seemed to stimulate the industry into doll manufacture on a larger scale, rapidly. Some of the other commonly used materials for making dolls at this time included wood, china, and wax. Hard rubber was introduced around eighteen-fifty, and bisque in eighteen-sixty two. Colonial cornhusk, and rag dolls had humble beginnings as mere domestic products. Both however quickly gained popularity commercially. The manufacture of dolls in the United States during the twentieth century has become a large and seemingly prosperous industry, to say the least.

Traditionally, dolls have been considered as toys for children. Although that may have been the original intent as to a doll's purpose, dolls are no longer viewed only as a toy. Presently, adults are collecting dolls as a hobby more than any other time in history. Dolls are collected for reasons as unique and different as the individual collecting them. Some of the reasons people collect dolls include nostalgia, a doll's beauty, a doll's craftsmanship or design, historical relevance and purpose, or as an investment in a collectible doll's appreciative monetary value. Dolls have a significance that is forever endearing to human beings, they are modeled after us. What other "toy" is specifically sought out, so it can be cared for and loved as no other possession?

Wooden Toys - Making Toys For Your Baby

When people think baby toys, they do not often think of wooden toys. However, with a few precautions, there is no reason that one could not make a wooden toy for a baby. The great part about wooden toys is that they tend to last longer than plastic toys and can become treasured favorites in the years as they grow up. They may even be toys that they pass on to their children. Here are some things that one should think about when making a wooden toy for the baby.

1.Size. Babies are small. However, they manage to fit a lot of larger things in their mouths. When a baby is exploring his or her environment, they tend to taste everything. For this reason, the wooden toy must be big enough to not fit in the baby's mouth. The wooden toy should not have any small parts that can be pulled off the toy since the baby might do that while playing with it. You do not want the baby to accidentally choke on the toy that was created to entertain him.

2.Coatings. As previously stated, babies tend to put everything in their mouths. They even tend to chew on things while teething. For this reason, one may wish to refrain from varnishing or painting the toy. If you do decide to paint or varnish the toy, be sure to use a non toxic coating and to check the toy frequently for damage to the coating. If the coating is beginning to chip off, it may be a good idea to remove the coating and reapply.

3. Materials. Be sure the wood is not pre-treated. Some of the pre-treated wood is sprayed or dipped with an arsenic type bug killer or a cyanide type treatment to help the wood to resist warping. This can be fatal to the baby if he or she swallows it. If you are creating a toy for the baby, consider using all natural wood. A soft wood is also a good idea because it will have some give to it if it is chewed and will not splinter like the hard wood would.

4. Shape. Make sure there are no pointed edges on the wooden toy before giving it to the baby. A pointed edge could easily injure the baby if he or she falls on it. To avoid this potentially dangerous situation, the wooden toy should have all the edges sanded down and all points should be sanded to a nice curve.

5. Make up. Most wooden toys have more than just wood on them. Often time's people add things like eyes and hair to their wooden toys. This is a great idea, but you must be sure to frequently check these additions to the wood for damage. If the eyes or hair appear to be falling off, it may be a good idea to remove the accessory and replace it with new. This way the baby does not risk choking on a piece from the wooden toy.

Ferret Tubes and Tunnels - Some Facts

Ferrets get a great deal of pleasure from playing with objects like furry toys and balls, yeah, but they can soon tire of them.

In my view, the greatest pleasure can come from watching them play in their Ferret Tubes and Tunnels; these toys are fantastic fun which your pet will love to race through.

There are some great tubes and tunnels to be had. The Double Fun Play Tunnel is large enough for multiple ferrets to enjoy. Ferrets have a blast exploring and playing with the bell toys while onlookers appreciate their enthusiasm. The divided tunnel has a hole on each exterior wall and one in the centre so ferrets can tunnel around.

Then there are smaller tunnels which are fleece-lined and flexible tunnels of fun that stretch up to 33 inches of extra exciting exploration space!

But the beast and the Grand-daddy of them all is the 'Super Thru Way Tunnel' which was the winner of the Best New Small Animal/Reptile

Product at the 42nd Annual APPMA Trade Show. Ferrets love to tunnel, so this is the toy your ferrets will love to play with and it is 20 foot long, so you need to make sure you have the space for it.

The newest concept in ferret housing is bubble wave funnels which attach to the cage. These can provide additional living space both in and outside of the cage. Your furry pal will spend countless hours climbing and exploring inside the easy-view translucent tubes which when attached to the cage, stand an almighty 69 inches high.

You can also get 'Tube and Tunnel' systems which can be connected to each other creating a colourful Peek-A-Boo playground system of tubes, elbows and tees. Your pet needs exercise in order to sustain a long and happy life, so this type of toy provides many hours of stimulation and fun for pets through natural exercise.

They can also satisfy the Ferret's natural curiosity as they provide a unique network of hiding places and tunnels to explore, hide and sleep in.

Then there are just Tubes which are a lot smaller than a system of tubes and tunnels. The average measure 12in x 12in and some have a snug nest at the top to lie around in. There are 3 different tubes to run, climb, hide and play in; the cardboard tubing is sturdy enough for more than one Ferret to race through.

So you get the idea, there is a lot of choice available, but before you start spending money on these spectacular designs, try your Ferret out in a simple cardboard box, it will do until they bored.

RC Construction Project Build Time Starts With the Excavators

Remote control excavators make logical choices for your first RC construction equipment purchase.

The creation of a project (to build a city, airport, or event stadium) for radio control fun takes time if you start by designing the project as a blueprint on paper, and then use your RC construction toys for the building phase.

That's why designing, and constructing these projects make such great gifts for both you and your kids or grandkids. They provide lots of high quality one-on-one time.

The planning and building probably mean more to those children than playing with the final creation.

No matter what your planned project is you'll spend a good bit of time in the research phase. Once you decide what type of project you'll build go to the library, or online, to find measurements for the full-sized versions. Your goal is to scale those measurements down to the project you're planning.

Researching is a learning experience all by itself.

If you go to the library you must know, or learn, how to locate the reference books that hold the information you're after.

Successful online research requires the ability to figure out laser focused search terms. A shotgun approach gives you too scattered a result for the precision knowledge you're searching for.

Think about the skills you give the kids just letting them perform that research with you. They'll have fun, learn a lot about finding information, and won't even think of it as a school-type activity.

Next comes the act of deciding measurements for roads, buildings, ovals, airstrips, and the like, another activity that takes a while. The ideas those kids think up about how to lay the project out will amaze you.

Then you consume more time drawing out the blueprint on paper.

And all that before any actual building work starts.

One consideration before you begin any of that design stuff is what types of RC construction equipment your project will require. Now is the time to start buying those toys, or performing maintenance on the models you already have.

The first remote control construction vehicle you'll likely need is the excavator. You'll use that to break ground, dig basements and foundations, and level the area where you'll build your project.

Buy your first RC model before you start your research. As you progress through the design phase of research, and blueprint development space out the purchases of your remote control construction toys as you go, so when the design of your project is complete your equipment waits, ready to go into action.

Building a radio control activity center requires RC construction excavators, front loaders, dump trucks, cranes, and fork lifts for completion.

Start acquiring those models early, before you start designing, space out your purchases throughout the design phase, and when building time comes you'll be ready to move forward, without the need to fork up the cash for equipment all at one time.

Your RC construction project will progress smoothly, give you and the little ones loads of quality, fun times, a great learning experience, and memories to treasure for years.

How Pedal Cars Are Constructed

Pedal cars have been around for over a hundred years. In that time frame, the basic design of pedal toys has not changed drastically, although the materials used have. The earliest cars featured a wooden body and seat with rubber tires. At the height of pedal car popularity during the late 1940's, the 1950's, and the 1960's, the vast majority of these cars were made of pressed steel. These steel-body cars are designed in much the same way as their wooden predecessors, except with longer-lasting parts.

In the 1970's, 1980's, and 1990's, nearly every pedal toy on the market was made of plastic. These cars, usually constructed entirely of plastic, though sometimes with metal components, were meant to last through one generation only, and often cracked or broke. This plastic was typically not molded as finely as the steel versions, making pedal cars of this era look less and less like real cars. However, more durable steel pedal cars were simply unavailable until re-introduced for adult collectors in the late 1990's. Today, steel pedal cars can be purchased for both children and collectors, although some companies still produce plastic versions of these classic ride-on toys. Other versions can also be found with a fiberglass body, although the underlying workings are the same no matter what the body is made of.

The basic pedal toy construction includes a body piece that gives the car its style, mounted on a frame with a seat and steering wheel. Depending on the intended style of the car, the body may be constructed as a hot rod car, plane, train, truck, or another style. Any accessories, like a horn or lights, are mounted to the body or frame. Underneath the frame are the axles and wheels, usually with rubber tires. Though this may seem similar to a full-size car, the similarities stop there. The space in front of the seat is left open to allow space for pedals.

The pedal toy is driven by the child's foot power through a simple drive chain mechanism which uses pedals to turn the front axle of the car. Early models were usually belt driven, while models from the 1950's and newer are usually chain-driven, although there are exceptions. Adjustable pedals, not found on earlier models, allow the pedal car to be used by children of different ages or sizes. Other new improvements may also include a gear box to allow the car to go in reverse, although this is not common.

As with many toys, the construction methods depend on the sale price of the toy. More expensive pedal toys are often constructed of higher quality materials, with extras ranging from convertible tops and windshields to working lights or horns. A less expensive model will be bare-bones, consisting only of the drive mechanism, the frame, and the body. These variations are all cosmetic; with very little variation, the actual workings of the pedal car have remained the same for decades. These classic toys are constructed in a very simple design, no matter their outward appearance.

Having Fun With an Indoor RC Helicopter

For many years remote controlled airplanes have been quite common but an indoor rc helicopter has always been beyond my imagination.

The technology involved in model helicopters is of a much higher level than what is needed for planes or cars.

This hobby used to be reserved for people with plenty of cash and the willingness to persevere in learning how to fly them.

As electronic parts are becoming smaller and cheaper, the specialized controllers are not reserved to the military anymore but are now available for RC toys as well.

I have always considered it a disadvantage for larger gas driven models that you need a lot of space and they are noisy and polluting.

An electric micro helicopter can be flown any time in a rather limited space. For a beginner it is advised to practice at a safe distance of grandmother's fine china. A backyard is perfect on a day without any wind. Later you can move your combat missions to the living room.

You can expect to hit a few objects when you just start out. The tail rotor will need some trimming to keep the heli from spinning. In the course of your experiments you risk breaking a few rotor blades. There must be a reason they sell spare rotors in six packs!

One property you may not like is the short battery time on the smallest models. To save weight the battery has been kept small. The batteries are usually charged by connecting the heli to the remote control and it easily takes fifteen minutes for a full charge. After that you can fly for about four to eight minutes.

Larger models usually have a removable battery that lasts longer and a separate battery charger. This makes it easier to prepare for your flight. Especially if you have some spare ones you can play around for a long time.

But I suppose an indoor RC helicopter is just the first step. With experience you will definitely want to save up for a larger one!

The joy of building wooden toys

The first form of toys, comes from the era historical novels were all made of wood. toy manufacturer in the world of fine-tuning the art of creating authentic hand-crafted wooden dolls, horses and classic games that we enjoy today. Cozy Coupe Lasts Through the Generations of Kids Toys

The instantly recognisable yellow and red children's ride in car, most kids from the last thirty odd years will remember it extremely well. When discussing with some friends recently, they actually didn't know that the iconic car was called a Cozy Coupe, I really thought the name was common knowledge. The bubble shaped car is still to this day a main feature in houses, play schools and kids creches.

Developed by the US based Little Tikes company, the Cozy Coupe ride on car was first available to buy in 1970. This was the first ever children's moulded plastic ride on car in America, and it proved to be a huge worldwide success. Little Tikes has since sold over 6 million units of the adorable Cozy Coupe, various different models are now available in the range. The car was so successful that in 1991 it actually out sold all real road cars in the US.

The classic bubble shape design of the Cozy Coupe has stuck with us over the years, but a new model of the car was introduced in 1998. The red and yellow frame remained, but the Cozy Coupe II came packed with new features. Little Tikes had added a new front roof and given the car an audio remote control, which play audio clips for beeping, unlocking and starting the car engine. As expected, the new model in the series continued to be a top selling kids toys, with sales doubling the average units sold over the next 5 months.

After 30 years on the market, Little Tikes decided it was the right time to bring out a new version of the car, the 30th anniversary edition was introduced in 2009. Of course the classic red and yellow design stayed, but we also got a new pink version, as well as a new Police Patrol version. The anniversary edition features a happy smile face on the front of the car, a removable floor and extra storage units at the back.

The Cozy Coupe was a big part of my childhood, and I really hope it continues to bring happiness to young children around the world for many years to come.

Profit and Social Deterioration

Big Bubbles Burst

For the past many decades corporations have continually increased their marketing intensity, leap-frogging back and forth with the competition. It has been a contest to achieve a bigger profit than the other guys by aggressively selling more to the consumer. The rules have been lax as tricks and traps have become common in many areas of business.

This constant pressure to buy has created a society that is always striving to acquire more expensive goods and services. Bigger and better cars and homes, trendier clothes, excessive toys and gadgets have been the personal desires and 'accomplishments' so many seek. Often it is with extended debt. In the richer countries citizens have accumulated excessively and unabated for many years, all to the tune of persuasive advertising.

At some point in time consumers will have had enough. They will become dissatisfied with questionable corporate selling methods and inferior purchases, much of which turned out to be unneeded or perhaps useless or even harmful. They will begin to regret the life stresses used in the processes of acquiring those things which do not make for a better life.

In very recent years there has been a backlash slowly arising. The serious issue of global warming has increased attention to this over-consumption which creates mountains of waste and pollution and takes away from a basic contented lifestyle.

Restoring normalcy to the artificial aspects of our society will involve less commercialism. Outlawing excessive and deceptive advertising would be a good start towards long term social healing. Imagine the changes if there were strict regulations in place, with goods and services purchased more wisely, out of necessity or by word-of-mouth recommendation.

Marketing and consumerism are due for severe trimming, in this decade or perhaps much further on. Profits will shrink, businesses will suffer and markets will drop as we begin to return to a more natural existence.

Sooner or later, gently over time, or more quickly and harshly.

Baby Favor Bags

So it's time to throw your little one their first real birthday party. You've bought the cake, set up the decorations, planned the activities, and created a guest list. Now it's time to pick out the party favors.

It's vital to remember that the party bags will most likely be given to young children, and their contents therefore must child-safe and most importantly, fun. They should not include small parts that children could choke on, and they must not be made of material that could be harmful if put in a child's mouth. It's your decision if you want to hand out the favors before or after the party. Some people may wish for the children to play with the goodies throughout the party to keep them occupied, while others may feel they divert from the birthday celebration and should be opened at home.

But what should you put in the bags? Items such as play dough and erasable markers are always a hit, as is outdoor sidewalk chalk. Also, most children like animals, so animal crackers or toy zoo animals, whether stuffed or figurines, are fun. You can also buy items in bulk at grocery stores or even a dollar store in your area. These may include bubbles, silly putty, small coloring books, and stickers. Miniature juice boxes are also available, and may be perfect for the ride home from the party.

If your party has a color scheme or theme, it is often easy to find most of these items in a variety of colors and designs. Lastly, you may wish to have a few items for the older children at the party, as what is appropriate for a two year old is not the same as what a nine year old enjoys. Whatever you choose, make sure your party bags are fun for the children and that each bag has the same type and number of items, so as not to cause arguments between the young guests.

Although it will be different for all children, the following are some examples of toys autistic children have found interesting. First, they often enjoy toys that are visually stimulating, like shapes, colors, and something as simple as bubbles. They also enjoy visually stimulating objects like puzzles and interactive books. Toys that stimulate touch, for example, books or toys with flaps and different fabrics or materials, seem to be the toys they gravitate to. Toys that make noise, such as amimals, dolls, or other items that play music or sing songs, are the ones, they enjoy. As a child ages, it is important to incorporate computerized software to assist in developing vocabulary and tasks, for example counting.

To help develop communication skills, play therapy or floor time therapy, is a play technique that incorporates a specific toy to gain interest of the child for playtime. Many children with autism do not relate to play into relationships or communication, so the intent of play therapy is for the child to interact the way they choose to. In addition, if the child chooses to play with a toy car, he or she may choose another car to bump into a different car, forcing them to get away from obsessively focusing on the one car itself, but instead on the act of play.

Many therapists and parents have been through the difficult task of trying to find the right toys for their special needs of children with autism. There were times in the recent past that parents struggled with this problem and could find no answers. Parents, therapists, who are inventive and creative, decided to create toys that would fit the needs of children to play and have fun with. That would help and influence children with autism to be creative also. Advice on toys, that will influence autistic children, have now made parents aware of the numerous outlets that are available. One way to learn about advice on different toys and what would be a good fit for your child, is to search the web sights and find out what would be advantageous for your child.

With the expansion of the internet at your fingertips, you can connect with parents who are currently being challenged with this issue of finding toys, and other parents who have done their research and successfully found what is right for their child, may be helpful for your child. Searching for toys should involve being open to creativeness, new ideas and understanding your child.

Calypso - The Goldfish Red Cap Diva praying

My fish is a Diva!

I'm not kidding either...

Let me tell you a story about what just happened in the past few days...

It has been an extremely busy week, and I didn't feel like cleaning out Kalypso's 10 gallon fish bowl. She has 2 filters with bubbles and a floaty fish toy that she loves snuggling and pushing around the bowl.

Kalypso has grown quite a bit in size since I got her in the spring. I'd say she's more than doubled in size. So, I got this new 10 gallon bowl just for her as an upgrade from her 5 gallon bowl. A big difference.

Now, when I didn't feel like cleaning out all of her home the other night, I brought out her 5 gallon bowl just for the night (I call it her condominium), so I could clean the 10 gallon in the morning. It was already late at night, mind you.

She had a pretty plant new glass beads at the bottom and fresh water, and she was sitting right next to my computer, so that she could see me!

The next morning, I sat down to check my email and do about 30 minutes of work. Kalypso was fine...Swimming around, happy to see me, etc.

However, I was sitting there no longer than 10 minutes, and all of a sudden, she turned upside down, floating, as if she were dead! No warning of distress, nothing visually wrong with her either.

Freaking out, I called my mother over who turned her right-side up, and moved her back and forth to keep her gills working, as an angler would returning a fish to water.

I rushed to clean up her 10 gallon bowl, fill it and replace her fish friend and filters, etc. It was a panic and a frenzy...

No sooner did we put her back into her large home with her bubbles from her filter, did she change her tune.

Seriously, it was as though she was boycotting, saying, "If I don't have my bubbles, I'll just die!"

I think she was depressed that I took away her huge home, her fish friend and most of all, her bubbles! She loves her bubbles.

Within 1 hour, she had perked up as though nothing ever happened. She's lucky we're so diligent and I love her so much - she's a special fish - because anyone else would have flushed her...She wasn't moving and upside-down.

Boy, did she show me!!! Don't move your fish into a condominium from a huge mansion, especially if there are no BUBBLES involved! They might just die!

How melodramatic!

The Many Types of Bath Toys

Bath Toys reasons become popular over the centuries for many. One of them is their use in popular culture, such as bath toys can make a beautiful, young, movie and cartoon feel extravagant. Kids love toys that transform ritual bath in a fun, exciting activities instead of an uncomfortable, restless. The parents, like bath toys for their ability to enchant scream, soap, small dart.

Of all the bath toys, rubberduckies are probably the most popular. They are referred to as rubber "duckies," "duckys," and "ducks," though they reside in acrylic bathtubs instead of ponds. It's an iconic bathtub figure, celebrated in different bathtubs throughout pop culture and modern day industry.

Rubber duckies, unlike ordinary duckies, are made entirely out of rubber or vinyl. Though the most common rubber duckies are vivid yellow in hue, several modern duckies (devil duckies, jester duckies, pirate duckies, skull duckies, etc) are painted in different colors and adorned with tiny pieces of rubber clothing.

The exquisite design of the rubber duck has inspired many interior architects to release new lines of rubber duck bathroom shower fixtures to go with rubber duck bathroom fixtures. Indeed many commercial bathroom fixtures attempt to imitate or accompany the colors and shape of the widely recognized figures. Their attempts were not in vain, though it cannot be denied that the rubber duck goes best with plain porcelain restrooms.

Another common bath toy is the plastic sailboat. The plastic sailboat is not as popular as the rubber duckie. This is because it has several sharp edges and breakable parts that make it an unsuitable companion for especially young and curious bathers. In addition, the rubber duckie has a simple and perfect design, something that a complex boat cannot accomplish. Nevertheless, the plastic sailboat has landed in a close second amongst the rankings of bath toys.

For the safety of your guests, plastic sailboats should not be used in spas. They are extremely useful for hot tubs, however, which also can apply to cheaper inflatable hot tubs. Extremely fancy and sturdy plastic boats make for a novel way of carrying crackers, cheeses, chilled drinks, and delicate electronics while you and your guests lounge around. These boats can be painted to look like pirate ships, toy boats, and other symbols in order to match the theme of your get together.

Plastic Hot Tub Sailboat technology is largely unexplored, so it the toy is used more often in the bathtub nowadays. These little toy boats commonly come with toy marines, tourists, and sailors, which can smile and float in the sudsy sea of the bathwater.

Bubbles are probably the most overlooked, yet most important of all of the bathtub toys. Soap bubbles give the child something soft and harmless to play with. They can put it in their hair, make beards of it, and stuff it in their ears. The best part is that it's clean, affordable, and does not have any sharp edges. Unfortunately, it tastes bad and does not last as long as other toys.
