End of Summer Celebration!

Summer vacation is almost over. The stores are hurriedly putting up the "Back to School' signs and frantic kids are racing to complete their summer homework which has been collecting dust up until now. The mood in most homes is somber and there is a cloud of doom hanging about in the air. But hold on a minute! There are still a couple weeks left of summer. Stop rushing for it to be over and celebrate the end of the summer season with your kids!

There are a lot of super fun ways to end your summer with a BANG!

Here are a few:

Slammin' Slumber Party-

Plan a themed slumber party, like 'Under the Stars Sleepover', for your children and a bunch of their friends. There is no better way to end the summer than with a party that lasts all night long!

Make invitations out of black paper cut into a large star shapes. Brush the stars with a thin layer of glue and sprinkle each star with glitter. Write the details of the party on the back in silver ink. Ask each child to bring a sleeping bag and a favorite toy.

Set up more tents (which can be bought cheap tag sales or discounts at local shops). string lanterns in the backyard, and you are set for a night under the stars! Serve the hot dogs and hamburgers for children as a main course. And for dessert, make some S'mores in the microwave!

In a dozen S'mores:

Graham Crackers 24

6 bars of dark chocolate

12 greatmarshmallows

Method:

On 2 large microwave safe plates arrange 6 graham crackers per plate. Break all 6 chocolate bars in half and place 1 half on each graham cracker. Place 1 marshmallow on top of each cracker and top all of them each with another graham cracker to complete the 'sandwich'.

Place in the microwave, on high power, for 20 seconds until the marshmallow puffs.

Wrap up the evening by having all the kids lay side by side in the grass while taking turns sharing their best summer memory. Send everyone off to their tent so that you can enjoy the remains of the sparkling summer sky!

Summer Moments Box

An excellent way to keep the summer memories alive is to make a 'Summer Memories' box. You can pick up a ready made wooden box at your local craft or hobby shop. Have your kids collect sand and seashells on your next trip to the beach.

To decorate the box, paint it with a sheer coat of clear lacquer and have your kids sprinkle sand and silver glitter all over it. Allow it to dry. Once dry, let your kids spell out their names on the box with the seashells. Use a glue gun to secure the shells but be careful that your kid's fingers are out of the way first!

Fill the box with all the treasure collected over the summer like that perfect stone your daughter found or a movie stub from the show your son just had to see.

Take out the box whenever your kids feel stressed from school or are down in the dumps. Remembering the summer is sure to bring a smile to anyone's face!

Summer...all year long!

Just because summer lasts for only 3 short months does not mean you can't rejoice in the season all year long. Change the décor in your home to reflect a summertime feel. Instead of dark and dreary colors, lighten things up with pastel and sheer fabrics to cover your windows and furniture.

Instead of investing in pricey pieces of art to sit on the mantel, turn to nature to decorate your home. Large pieces of coral or colorful seashells are inexpensive yet creative ways to maintain the summer theme in your home.

Be creative and think out of the box! Remember that old surfboard lying all banged up in the attic? Fish it out and refurbish it. Hang it in a prominent place in your home to really make a great conversation piece. If you don't have a surfboard perhaps you can add a few surfboard themes around your home. Perhaps a couple of pillows with a surfboard theme or some surfboard soaps in your bathroom. Keep the waves moving all year long!

Goodbye summer 'Bon Voyage' Picnic -

Alas, summer will leave without any remorse. Say goodbye to the season in style by having a summer picnic right on the beach. Nothing fancy, just a bag of some cold-cut sandwiches and some watermelon slices from home.

Make it special by surprising your kids with a couple of empty bottles complete with cork stoppers. Whip out some decorative paper and pens. Ask your kids to write a "Message in a Bottle" letter complete with their name and e-mail address. Roll up each letter and insert into the bottle. Secure the cork stoppers tightly to insure that the bottle will float and the water will stay out. Let your kids throw their bottles far into the ocean.

You never know, the bottles might sail the ocean all winter long and be found just in time for next summer. Hopefully, by another child looking for a summer fun pen pal in a distant land!

As you bid farewell to the last breathes of summer just remember it will be back again next year with all its sunny days and starry nights. Remember it in your heart and it will be back before you know it!

How to Conquer Bubbles in Gel Candles

Bubbles are awesome little creatures, always showing up and leaving when you least expect them. You can go to bed with a perfectly clear gel candle and wake up to discover hundreds of bubbles where there were none. In simple candles with nothing embedded in it, bubbles can transform a plain candle into a stunning one, plus they capture the light and glow when the candle is lit. Bubbles are also nice to have around when they tie in with a candles design theme, such as an aquarium candle or a beer stein candle.

Tips to Conquer Bubbles

Virtually all bubbles are caused by one of three things, which are the heating temperature of the gel, reactions between the gel and items in your candle, and produced while pouring the gel.
If you really want bubble-free gel candles, you will need to use an arsenal of bubble-ridding techniques. Use one, or all, of these techniques, depending on your patience level and your willingness to experiment.

Three Techniques to Reduce Bubbles

1. Heat your containers.
Preheat the containers in a 175^ F. oven (79^C.) for about 10 minutes. You can put the container(s) into the oven right after you place your gel on the stove-top. Then when you pour the gel, you're pouring hot gel into a hot container. This should aid in keeping bubbles from forming.

2. Heat the gel to it's highest (safe) temperature.
Remember to follow the gels manufacturer recommendation. Generally, the higher the pour temperature, the fewer the bubbles. When heating gel to high temperatures, always keep a close watch on the gel because with just a few minutes of distraction, the gel can easily cause a grease fire. This can be avoided by monitoring the gels temperature while melting. When you go to pour the gel, continue to monitor the temperature, especially if you are pouring multiple candles. You may have poured the first candle at a high temperature, but the gel temperature for subsequent candles can easily be 50^F. (10^C.) less, if the pan has been removed from the heat.

3. Pretreat all ceramic, glass and metallic items.
If you are planning to embed items in the gel candle, whether ceramic, glass or metallic, you should preheat them by placing them in a pan with a small amount of melted gel. Watch the items for bubbles. If no bubbles appear, use tweezers to carefully remove the items, holding them over the pan until the gel solidifies. If the items do bubble, leave them in the gel until they stop, stirring occasionally. If an item continues to bubble for more than a few minutes, look for a replacement item unless you're willing to have bubbles in your finished candle.

Additional Tips To Conquer Bubbles

Avoid using items made with glue, glue often reacts with the gel and creates excessive bubbling.

If possible, pour the gel at an angle, as you would a beer, to minimize bubbling.

Presoak your wicks in some melted gel and watch for bubbling. When the bubbling stops, lift the wick out, wait 30 seconds, then run your fingers down the wick to remove excess gel.

Stir your newly poured gel with a bubble stick. You can find plastic bubble sticks in almost any craft store. Just place the stick in the gel and gently stir it through the gel in a swirling motion.

Place newly poured candles in the refrigerator as soon as possible and leave them undisturbed for several hours.

The above are techniques I was taught to use when making gel candles. Actually, since I only make scented candles to use in my home, I couldn't care less about bubbles. So, if you are diligent and are making candles to sell at Craft Shows you might want to try one or all of the techniques listed. I hope you found this article helpful.

Why Your Classic Car Needs Vintage Tires

Besides being the ultimate toy, a classic car is a major investment. Authenticity is essential for classic cars to maintain the highest possible retail value. From original car parts to vintage tires, your classic car should be completely restored. After all, many people refer to their car as their "wheels". Without wheels, a car would simply be an immobile chunk of metal. When you add tires, the car comes alive to transport you anywhere you want to go.

The tires you need depend on the classic car you choose to restore. Antique cars require special antique tires to fit the vehicle. Often antique cars are maintained strictly for show purposes since driving them can cause serious wear and tear to old parts. Driving on antique car on public roads is difficult because it is simply not designed for today's roadways.

If you have a hot rod or muscle car, your tires mean more than just good looks. Typically muscle cars are shown for both beauty and performance. Your tires must be designed to perform under extreme conditions. Tires must handle high speeds, kinetic energy transfer and plenty of flexing and torque. Muscle car wheels are both good-looking and completely functional. Modern muscle car wheels are made from rubber containing an ingredient called antiozonant to prevent oxidizing, deteriorating and cracking. The antiozonant constantly goes through the tire to keep it from wearing out. When the chemical is exposed to the air, it becomes a brown color.

To keep your tires looking black, various cleaning and conditioning agents can be used along with protectants to protect tires from corrosive elements. It is essential to use the right wheel cleaner on classic car tires. When in doubt, check with the tire manufacturer to be sure you use the right cleaner. If you use the wrong one, it can cause permanent stains and discoloration. Sometimes a soft wheel brush is used to remove built-up grit and grime.

Original rims are also essential to have on a completely classic car. Special cleaners are used to keep rims shiny and looking new. Rust prevention agents may be applied to the rims to keep them from corroding. Always use products recommended by the manufacturer so you don't damage the original rims.

When you restore a classic car or truck, remember to keep the rims and tires authentic. Certain classic cars are recognized by their distinctive tires and rims. Without these special wheels, your classic car becomes just another vehicle on the road. Make sure your eye-catching tires and rims are properly mounted and filled for optimum safety when you hit the road.

Babies Suffering For Colic

About one quarter of babies will suffer from colic from around age 3 weeks - and you will suffer too! All babies cry of course, but those with colic will cry relentlessly for at least three hours several times a week, usually in the evening when your partner gets home from work. This can be a stressful time for you all, but it will go away of its own accord once baby reaches about 12 weeks. In the meantime there are some things you can try to ease her discomfort and the decibel level.

Symptoms Of Colic
As well as the crying and general distress, baby will often extend or pull up her legs, arching her back; and her tummy may feel bloated.

The Cause Of Colic
The causes are not fully understood, although some experts believe that bottle-fed babies are more likely to be affected as they take in air through the teat. Other causes are smoking during pregnancy - this includes being in a smoky atmosphere (second-hand smoke).

Other theories include an intolerance of lactose (a natural ingredient of milk), and the immaturity of her digestive system - the latter is supported by the fact that babies usually grow out of colic at around 12 weeks of age.

Treatments
If you're bottle feeding you can get anti-colic teats that reduce the air intake. Change the teats as she develops as using a newborn's teat after a few weeks will mean she has to suck harder and will take in more air. You can also get colic drops from your pharmacist which break down air bubbles in her tummy. Gripe water will act in the same way.

If you are breast feeding, some foods that you eat may be aggravating the problem. Possible culprits are orange juice, spicy foods, caffeine, alcohol, onions and cabbage.
Try massage. Rub her tummy in a clockwise direction to aid digestion.

Switch on a hair dryer or vacuum cleaner so she can hear the noise. Seriously, baby heard these sort of noises while in the womb and she may be comforted by them.

Cranial osteopathy may help. If the birth was difficult, a gentle realignment of bones and joints can work wonders and some mothers have found that one treatment results in a cure for colic and other ailments. We have a separate article on this subject.

Make a note of anything that seems to reduce or stop the crying and repeat next time.

Helping You To Cope
With your baby in obvious distress, the relentless crying, and maybe a grumpy partner; you will be under a lot of pressure. Understand what is happening and the reasons for it, and make sure your partner does too. Talk to other moms who will reassure you that it is nothing you are doing wrong.
Above all, keep in mind that this will end of its own accord, usually around age 12 weeks. Hang on in there!

Learn How to Make Gel Candles

Learning how to make gel candles is real easy. So easy in fact that in the minute it takes to read this article you will literally know how to make gel candles. But why gel? Because you can do some amazing things with gel that you can't do with wax. First of all gel is clear which is amazing enough. And you can suspend things in gel candles. Things like decoration. Things like marbles, coins, beads, glitter, beautiful stones or what ever decorations you want and because the gel is clear these things are visible.

Are you sold on gel candles now? Good you should be. So how do we make gel candles? If you know how to make wax candles you know how to make gel candles because it's basically the same with only some slight differences which we will cover.

Like all candles gel is made up mostly of oil. Gel candles are almost all mineral oil with a little bit of resin powder added. The combining of these will produce the solid gel. To make candles the gel is heated up to its melting point as are wax candles. But gel is heated slightly higher to about 200 degrees F and it doesn't really liquefy like wax does rather it becomes a thick syrupy substance which is a little more difficult to work with and a little harder to pour then the liquid wax. Gel needs to be carefully poured down the side of the candle container so as not to make bubbles in the candle (remember they will be visible) unless you want bubbles they are kind of decorative.

Candle wax is usually melted with a double boiler when making candles. A multi-cooker is used for gel. This is made of metal with a non-stick coating. It has a temperature dial that you set but you should still use a thermometer to verify the gel has been heated to the proper temperature. Gel can catch fire so you will need a chemical fire extinguisher.

Melting candle wax is usually stirred with a long wooden spoon or paint stick but this can cause bubbles in gel so hard plastic or metal is used for stirring.

When the gel is heated to the proper temperature, which I said above is "about" 200 degrees. This can vary with gel so to make sure you need to contact the manufacturer. You add coloring and scent when it is fully heated if you want these things. For gel you will want to use liquid candle dyes because they will allow the gel to remain clear. And only a tiny amount is needed. There is a wide variety of scents to choose from just pick the one you like.

You make sure your wick is centered before you pour your gel into your candle container and give it a few hours to cool and that's it. I said you would know how to make gel candles when you finished this article.

Banish Baby's Winter Itch

Winter is almost here and while the thought of hot soup and nourishing stews is mouth-watering, the dry itchy skin that accompanies the colder weather isn't so appealing.

But what is about winter that brings the itches out?

Quite simply, it is the drop in humidity which causes skin to lose moisture. Then the heater comes out, add to that long hot showers and baths followed by rugging up in winter woollies. These all have an effect on skin, making conditions such as acne, cold sores, flaking and eczema worse.

If you have ever suffered from these conditions, you will know how horrendous it can be and you would do literally anything to stop the itch.

If this is how we feel, how must a babys' skin be feeling? Babies can't tell us that they are uncomfortable and usually it isn't until the skin has erupted in eczema that it's evident there is a problem. What is even worse is that babys', who already have very sensitive skin, are more prone to skin problems, particularly in winter.

As the main function of the skin is to protect against infection, by implementing a strict skincare routine that keeps your baby's skin moisturised at all times, you can lower their chances of future skin infections.

So the secret is - moisturise, moisturise, moisturise, and avoid triggers that can aggravate their sensitive skin, starting with bath time.

Bath time bliss

Babies do not need daily bathing in winter as this can further dry their skin by removing the natural oils needed for protection and preventing an eczema outbreak.

Follow the bath time routine below, to ensure your baby's skin stays smooth, supple and itch-free.

1. Use lukewarm water and keep bath time to a maximum of five minutes.

2. Use bath products that are soap free, fragrance free and low foaming. Either use a bath wash or bath oil that is suitable for sensitive skin. With so many products on the market you may need to try a few until you find one that is suitable to your needs.
Remember bubbles are trouble.

3. Don't use sponges as the friction can irritate the skin and trigger an eczema outbreak. Use only soft cotton wash cloths or better still use your hands to wash baby but do not rub the skin.

4. Pat baby's skin partially dry with a soft cotton towel, do not rub. Apply moisturiser within two to five minutes after bathing to lock in moisture and prevent dryness. This will also reduce eczema flare ups. Use a moisturiser that has no fragrance or essential oils and is suitable for sensitive skin. Once again, with so many products on the market you may need to try a few until you find one that is suitable to your needs.

5. Remember moisturise, moisturise, moisturise an absolute minimum of twice a day up to four times a day.

6. If baby has a prescribed eczema cream then apply this as per product instructions or doctors directions to eczema patches.

7. Dress baby in breathable clothing fabrics such as cotton or bamboo and ensure baby is not overheated.

What else can I do?

1. Try to avoid the heater or only have it to warm up the room and then switch it off. Try using a humidifier to add moisture to the air. You can purchase these from a pharmacy or baby retailer.

2. When dressing baby, stick to cotton garments and if you do have woollen jumpers don't allow baby's skin to have direct contact. Unfortunately wool is a huge trigger for baby's eczema.

3. When washing baby's clothes avoid using fabric softeners and perfumed washing powders. Look for hypo allergenic detergents and wash at 60 degrees to kill dust mites.

4. When putting baby to bed avoid over heating baby with a doona and use blankets instead.

With a few simple steps, and by making moisturiser your best friend, you can help baby beat winter itch.

Aquarium Water Toys

Kids of today's generation aren't only fascinated about toy cars, Barbie dolls, toy robots, stationaries, plastic animals, toy guns and cellular phones. They are also fond of aquarium water toys that give beauty enhancement to the aquarium where fishes are reared by fish hobbyists. Or probably the entire aquarium picture is shaped up with toys. Sea creatures can be transformed into plastic versions so that they appear to be fun and exciting to kids.

To those who are ocean adventurers or dreaming to be one, you might get so much enjoyment from the aquarium water toys available in the market. From swimming toy fishes to toy plants, they're made with the finest materials to keep up with high quality and durability that most parents would get for their kids. Toys are part of a kid's lifestyle.

Children take playtime as a fun escape from the tiring side of life. They are fond of imagining worlds where they don't belong such as outer space and underworld. Oftentimes, they'd assume they are superheroes, little mermaids, fairytale characters and sea divers. There is no denying that parents would buy anything they can afford just to please their children. If their children point at some of the aquarium water toys, they usually end up saying yes. With this, manufacturers continue to upgrade the types of toys they produce.

The best-seller dinosaurs are now being joined manatees, whales and sharks as most sought-after aquarium water toys that kids love to possess. Moreover, replicas of more ocean animals like otters, sea turtles and sea lions are sellable as well. Inspired by the famous Sponge Bob cartoon program, toy manufacturers are also offering an entirely Sponge Bob themed aquarium line.

Aiming to soothe the baby's pre-sleep hours, the aquarium water toys are converged in a bowl that plays lullabies and flashes bright lights. Sea creatures and fishes all move around the bowl. One good product is Ocean Wonders Aquarium.

Little aquariums and fishbowls filled with water are also a fascination among kids ages 1 to 3. In little aquariums, a snow-globe concept is enhanced by small tropical fishes swimming under the sea. The little aquarium has a magnetic effect that allows your kid to move the fishes. Bubbles, fishes and light effects are truly entertaining in fishbowls.

Some of the most popular aquarium water toys are the ocean-inspired Amazing Live Sea Monkeys, Sunken Treasure and Aquasaurs Prehistorical Pet Habitat. There are even aquarium cars transporting sharks and octopuses. The 83-piece Aquarium Set is also preferred as it has it all-aquarium cars, aquarium and fish food stock. Adventure parks are also adopting the phenomenal breakthrough in toys by affording the kid visitors some clip-on's that are inspired by sea creatures.

How Solar Energy Can Heat Your Home and Pool

Energy prices, such as the price of gas are expected to rise by 60% over the next five years. This will have a huge impact in how people heat their homes due to such a massive price rise on top of already high prices. The facts are the time of cheap energy is over from sources such as oil and gas, and while electricity is dependant on fossil fuels, electricity prices will also continue to be very expensive. So what do we do, home heating is a necessarily not a choice in most climates, so heat has got to be produced. Some homes who are lucky enough to have pools and currently use gas or oil to heat the pool will be left with a constant reminder of how nice it was when they had a warm pool, not a cold uninviting volume of water.

However, we do have options available to us to reduce our annual heating costs and use alternatives. Solar is one option we have available to us, we can use solar energy to heat our homes and our pools with a very low start up cost and practically zero maintenance costs. Primarily, when people talk about solar, they refer to producing electricity. While solar is very capable of producing electricity directly with solar cells, it is not really the most practical means. Using solar energy to heat water is a very simple and low cost way to capture solar energy. The hot water produced could be used to reduce the load on your existing fossil fuel boiler, and reduce fuel consumption. The hot water can also be use for washing or heating your pool as well as the house.

So how can you heat your pool with solar energy? Well, one of the first methods is to change your existing pool cover for a solar pool cover. These have the appearance of a large section of bubble wrap. As they are produced from clear plastic, they let in solar energy to heat the water. The bubbles within the cover contain trapped air, which act as a barrier to stop the heat escaping. To capture even more solar energy for the pool and your home, a solar water heater can be used. One of the most popular, reliable and most affordable designs is the passive solar water heater. The design is simply a black water storage vessel within a solar collector box. This is very cheap to produce but is very efficient.

Fun With Cardboard Boxes

I recently had to help my sister in her hour of need. Her business partner had caught some awful virus and under doctor's orders was not to travel, so she was unexpectedly going on a business trip to Hong Kong for 5 days and I was going to become the sole guardian of my 5 year old nephew.

I do not have any children of my own, I live in a small one bedroom flat, I am currently living on a tight budget and to top it all off, that specific week happens to coincide with my partners 'men only' holiday, so it is definitely going to be just me and Charlie.

Initially the massive task ahead of me did not seem that big a deal, I have looked after many children at one time or another, I spent half of my teen years babysitting and I've always got on well with Charlie anyway. Little did I know that I would soon find myself constantly having ideas of things I needed to get sorted out at home to make it safe and child friendly for Charlie. I ended up writing everything down to try to keep on top of it all.

Aside from all the usual worries where kids are concerned i desperately wanted to make sure my nephew wouldn't feel lonely, bored or end up dreading ever spending time with me again. I tried to think back to what I did at 5 years of age but times were different then, all kids played out on the street, or friends would call to ask if you wanted to go out and play, now parents rules have changed and it is rare that kids are allowed anywhere without adult supervision. My mind wandered as I flicked through my notes when I spotted something I had jotted down.' Cardboard boxes. Amazingly my scribbled notes had given me an excellent idea!

Examples of many uses of cardboard boxes for a young (supervised) child.

Making hats, masks, puppets, forts, boats, cars, swords, shields, costumes etc
Building dens
Hiding inside
Jumping out of

My mind was racing with ideas, the possibilities are endless, I thought. Of course for all of the craft sessions I would need a few other bits and bobs, coloured tissue paper, glue, but this could be a good way to stay within my budget and make a 5 year old boy happy. Bubble wrap, another excellent idea, hours and hours of fun! I am 30 and I still cannot resist popping a few bubbles when the opportunity arises.

Eventually I decided to have a look on the internet for supplies, and managed to get a fantastic deal from a local packaging company. Boxes of all sizes, coloured tissue paper, a huge roll of bubble wrap delivered to the door 2 days before Charlie was due to arrive, I hid them all away in the wardrobe with the bags of balloons, bubble blowers, colouring books and other cheap supplies I had managed to get, crossed my fingers very tightly and hoped Charlie would like my ideas.

All of my worry was unnecessary as it turned out, Charlie and I spent an enjoyable week together, feeding the ducks, going to the park, making fairy cakes, and best of all making things out of cardboard boxes.

By the middle of the week Charlie had decided that as you could make all kinds of things from a few bits that just happen to be lying around the flat, he was going to make up a play to perform for Mum when she came home and we could make everything we needed for the play - out of cardboard. We made a robot costume for Charlie and I had a variety of hats to wear as I played at least 4 different people in his big play. We also made some scenery and a couple of props. I have never met such a driven young boy in my life before. He was on a serious mission all for a welcome home-coming for Mum. We did practice our lines a few times and got nearly all of them right for the real thing.

As soon as Mum was back, had said her hellos, spent at least 5 minutes squeezing Charlie, and had been fed and watered the performance was on. Charlie did very well, remembering to change the scenery at the right time, use the right props in each scene, and he spoke in a loud and clear voice all the way through even though the audience of 1 was only a metre away!

My sister was touched by the performance and all the effort that had gone into it, She couldn't thank me enough for taking care of her boy while she was in Hong Kong, and although Charlie said he'd be sad to leave he was happy Mum was home. He couldn't however, bear to leave all his new handmade toys and pictures behind, and came close to throwing his first tantrum in a whole week until Mum gave in and they were carefully packed into the car, taken home and were given pride of place in Charlie's bedroom.

Its only been three days and already I miss Charlie's company but life is slowly returning to normal or so I thought. Charlie surprised me with a phone call today asking if he could possibly come and stay with me for the night, he'd had a great idea for a play. Perhaps I need to keep boxes in stock at all times from now on!

Bakugan Battle Brawlers Toys Have International Appeal

The Bakugan Battle Brawlers CCG seems to have taken over center stage on the gaming scene recently. Not only has it become so popular these past few months that stores are having a hard time keeping them in stock, but Toys R Us has capitalized on the gaming craze and is holding country wide tournaments! Software gaming giant Activison has recently signed on to make a Bakugan video game for all the major gaming systems, and it promises to be a huge success. The second season of the Bakugan Anime "New Vestroia" is airing soon, and a whole new lineup of series 2 Bakugan toys has been released just in time to celebrate.

What is truly amazing is that this game seems to have a worldwide appeal. The creators of Bakugan, a company called Spin Masters, are doing a brilliant job marketing this game to an international audience of children all over the world. You can tell just by checking the official Bakugan website which is translated into NINE languages! The cards themselves are printed in both English and French. According to Google Trends, the language that Bakugan is most searched for is Tagalog (the language in the Philippines), and second is Thai, English holds a measly third place in the search engines.

This international appeal meshes well with the cartoon which takes kids from all walks of life and all nationalities and brings them together for a common purpose. While the cartoon itself is pretty boiler plate, the game is becoming a real sensation. Layers of strategy, fast and furious play, collectible cards, transforming spheres, and magnets! They had me at magnets... What more do kids need to capture their imagination?

This game is poised to make some major waves in the worldwide gaming world. It already seems like it could be bigger than the Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh CCGs that came before. You can bet it will be one of the top selling items this Christmas yet again. If you haven't checked this game out yet, particularly if you have kids, you will want to do so while you can still find these toys on the shelves.

Whats So Popular About Bubble Shooter?

Every so often there comes along a video game that brings something new to the table in terms of gameplay appeal. One game that has continually stood the test of time is 'Bubbleshooter'. Since its original release in 2004 this awesome game has been published for many platforms including the PC, Mac and many handheld devices such as the iPhone and PDA type devices.

As with many games of its type the gameplay is easy to get accustomed to and involves a few simple rules. The main objective of "Bubble Shooter" is to literally clear the screen of bubbles that line up and set vertically on your screen. Your goal is to fire a corresponding coloured bubble to match 2 or 3 identical bubbles to eliminate that set. The core gameplay of this addictive game can be traced back to the gameplay mechanics of classics such as 'tetris' that make games like 'Bubble shooter' so addictive to play and provide lasting appeal. As well as being immensely entertaining " Bubble Shooter" can also be frustratingly annoying at times, especially when you reach the latter difficulty stages of the game. As with all games of this type a life is taken if you allow the screen to be flooded with bubbles you have to start from scratch from that particular level. As levels go on you will find that not only does the speed increase but also bubble matching becomes increasingly more difficult.

There are many variations of this popular game with many developers created a themed variation of this particular type of game. As with any game, power ups and unique modes are included as well as incorporated multiplayer options to allow you to play friends and strangers whether it be online or playing the person next to you. Multiplayer alone adds extreme longevity giving you bragging rights to enforce on your unfortunate victim.

If you are looking for a genre of game that is easy to pick up, affordable and widely available then a bubble shooter type game is the right game for you. I guarantee you that you will get months if not years of enjoyment from the addictive gameplay nature and multiplayer options.

From Bubble Gum To Game-Used Inserts - The Collectibles Industry At A Glance

Several decades ago, the big insert in a pack of trading cards was a yummy stick of bubble gum. These days, collectors can sink their teeth into a whole new world of collectibles. The stick of bubble gum has been replaced with authentic game-used memorabilia and the trading card industry has soared in popularity. Whether it be a piece of a game-used bat, football jersey, sheet metal from a race car or other rare collectible, trading card companies are always looking for new and better innovations to get a leg up on their competition. This makes for a terrific, and exciting, time to collect trading cards.

A game-used event card will always be a good investment as it's more than just a typical trading card - it's a unique insert with, what will someday be, a piece of history. And, best of all, it's guaranteed to be authentic by the issuing card company.

If you are an avid trading card collector, then you know the value potential of rookie cards. Collectors should keep in mind that there is a difference between a true rookie card and a card company who releases their first card of a particular player, which they also call a rookie card. When searching for a true rookie card, you want the first card that the player ever appeared on. Be careful of rookie reprints, which are sometimes nearly impossible to differentiate from the real thing. For example, Michael Jordan's rookie card was reprinted years ago and it's nearly impossible to tell a real MJ rookie card, which is worth thousands of dollars, from the reprint. If you're considering investing a large amount of money in a card, do as much research as possible to make sure that you are getting the real deal. If feasible, have the card authenticated or buy one that's already authenticated from a reputable source.

Limited edition items also increase in value due to the fact that there are only a certain number of these items available and they are not being mass produced. As a general rule, anything that is produced in limited quantities will always retain a better value than anything that was produced in larger quantities. Special edition and commemorative collectibles hold their value equally as well. These collectibles are released in honor of a special, and usually a rare, event. Such things may include an anniversary, career record achievement or other milestone.

If you enjoy reading, perhaps you are a collector of press kits. These rare information kits are made available to the media, from a company or sports team, to be used for news purposes. More and more sports fans are beginning to accept these kits as collectibles. A combination of press releases, exclusive photos and 35mm slides provide a sports fan with an inside look at his/her favorite sport. In some cases, a press kit may also contain a team or stadium photo.

An important thing to keep in mind when shopping for collectibles is that, if investment potential is of concern, be on the lookout for unauthorized or illegal merchandise. In some cases, items will be reproduced without the consent or knowledge of the sports organization or even the athletes themselves. The best way to avoid this is to look for the symbol that confirms a collectible is an officially-licensed product. If you collect autographs, most athletes will not even sign an item unless it's an officially-licensed product.

Shop wisely and, most importantly, take the time to enjoy your collection of sports memorabilia. It truly is a reflection of you and, through the years, a collection will become full of memories.

Emotions Are For Feeling

Emotions are for feeling, feeling in and out:

Tears of sadness; cries of joy; words of anger;

fear as toys.

Round and round we go.

Sometimes laughing out.

Sometimes tears inward - make for sick bones.

Emotions are for feeling. Just what is it all about?

They say our feelings create for us, express the fears,

explode the tears,

Bubble with joy and laugh as the sea carries us on.

Emotions are water, ever changing within.

When brought to the surface, they can heal our bodies.

These feelings make life holy, all worth living for.

Without the joy and passion,

Just what are we here for?

Dare to feel rotten, dare to show it.

Let the misery escape, so it doesn't "eat you up inside."

Feel like hell, feel so sad.

When you don't think you can stand it another

moment,

You're amazed as that moment passes,

And you are still here and actually "feeling" better.

When you're in it, you think there is no way out.

When you come to the other end of it,

You just might have uncontrollable laughter.

How many times has some great tragedy

Made you laugh uproariously later.

Oh, I do mean much later!

The saddest you've been is a promise of the happiest

you'll get.

Could it be that simple?

The pendulum swings from sad to happy,

Love to hate, anger to acceptance,

Fear to courage, and worry to trust.

The mysteries of emotion... just what are they

here for?

The spark that ignites the passion

Can become the flame of unconditional love.

The delight of expectancy,

Brings us our child within.

Complex emotions are running around inside of us.

Without them life is flat, dull, middle ground.

The middle way is the path of the Buddha...

Not too hot, not too cold.

Lukewarm isn't so good either.

Life means feeling.

This body is here for touch, touch of skin and touch

of hearts.

Love is here to feel...all around,

The love is here to feel.

A Glimpse at the Different Shades of Black Rims Available For Your Car

It's true - black rims on a car definitely make that car stand out! But there are different shades of "black" available - such as flat, glossy and hyper. So, which one should you choose? Well, here's a short summary of the three different shades, a few ideas of what type of car looks good with them, and some very general information on prices.

Glossy Black - A color that is very standout, shiny and sleek, this shade goes nicely on just about any vehicle - as long as the paint job is nice. While this is definitely for the guy who is into making his car "showy", he would do best to stay away from it if he just wants to "hide" in with the general population.

You could put this type of rim on one of the tiny little hybrids - not only to make it "sporty", but to give it that cute toy car look. These would be especially brilliant, when paired up with a bright yellow or orange paint job. You could also jazz up that two-door sedan or sub-compact car, as well.

These babies aren't cheap. If you're looking at the brand new ones - and depending upon the size you need - be prepared to pay as much as your monthly car payment for the smaller rims, and look to fork over a house payment-sized amount for those cars that most of us will never be able to afford.

Flat Black - This shade is without a hint of any other color, at all. It's more of a monotone shade, that's just "black". However, it does very well when put on government-type cars and jeeps, to give them that authoritative look.

Besides military vehicles, flat black rims are sometimes seen on those cars that used to be family vehicles, but have somehow been transformed into bonafide serious race cars. It's not unusual to have to look twice when you come across a small, bland former commuter vehicle that has been painted a serious dark purple, and paired with a set of these wheels, as at first, it's common not to recognize it for what it is, until you take a closer look. You too, can have this for your car at prices starting around $200 per set for the basic breed, all the way to a couple thousand dollars - depending on what size and brand you want.

"Hyper" Black - This color isn't actually black, but it's more of a silver-chrome in which another color - with the tiniest shade of dark - has been made to peer through. This is actually a very classy look for a rim - and it will make a car look more expensive, as well. You call easily jazz up one of those "gangster car replica" types, and it will look very sleek. Sometimes you can find the very bare bones stock rims in this shade, for about two hundred per set, and of course, they go up from there.

Graffiti Lingo 101 - A User's Guide to Talking Street

Graffiti art has been evolving and will continue to flourish, regardless of any acceptance by art institutions or not. Getting up: The action of going out and tagging.

Going Over: Crossing out someone else's work with your own, with the idea that your work is better.

King: The highest compliment given to a graffiti writer. A person who has mastered the form and established his dominance.

Rack: To steal.

Sick: Very, very good at technique and has great individual style. Usually pronounced as "siiiick!" ex: Johnny has sick style. Meaning Johnny is very good.

Tag: A writers signature, his "nom de plume". For example "Scape" is my tag.

Throw up: Your name in big bubble letters. Done VERY quickly...Used primarily to simply cover space and grab attention. Done in no more than three minutes. Proving you were there.

Westside: A common phrase shouted from many a parking lot, designating an affiliation or allegiance to The West Coast of the US. Was formerly a calling for and by gangs of the westside of Los Angeles. Made popular by rap records and now tends to lean on an affiliation of all things West Coast Hip Hop.

Allergies and asthma toxins in baby bath products

If your child is exposed to toxins such as asthma and allergies 1,4-dioxane and formaldehyde? The answer is yes to a study conducted for the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics "in March 2009. I would take a second look at your" Sesame Street "marks the character and Johnson & Johnson's Baby Shampoo. This is very serious for the health of our children and must be removed quickly or long-term complications from their use because of our children.

These chemicals,Formaldehyde and 1,4-dioxane are animal carcinogens and probable human carcinogens known, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. People with asthma, allergies and chemical injuries may be influenced by these products. Formaldehyde is also known to cause allergic skin rashes in children. We have a client that the child is severely allergic to shampoos for different children.

According to a study by the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics products, 'and additionalidentified by the presence of 1,4-dioxane.
