Gifts For Girls of All Ages

Girls are easy to buy for. Girls of all ages from age 2 up to age 18 love bath products. Bubbles and lotions, and bath sponges, you name it. Girls also like nail polish at any age, even if it is for play at a young age, the same goes for makeup.

Girls love purses and stuffed animals. Anything girly most girls like, unless of course you have a tom boy, then you might want to look at baseball gloves and ball bats. Most girls love earrings and other jewelry. Definitely buy age appropriate types, as you would not want a 4 year old wearing a gold necklace.

Clothes are liked by older girls, starting at age about 12 or so. Tweens can be difficult to buy for because this is a time of major changes in their lives. Keep an eye on their interests. If they have favorite sports teams, a jacket with the team logo might go over well.

Games are very popular for ages 6 and up to about age 12. It can be board games or other types of games. Of course just like the boys, girls like to play some video games. Girls like creative things, and there are many crafty and creative kits that girls will like to make scrapbooks, jewelry, and other crafts with.

As the girls get older, they want the nice shoes, clothes, and jewelry. Watches are a safe bet. Jewelry boxes are also popular. Girls love dolls from a young age, and older girls might have a doll collection with a favorite type of doll or doll maker.

Little girls ages 3-8 like to play dress-up and there are many kits available made just for this type of play, with princess costumes and high heel shoes, and hats. This keeps them out of mommy's clothes and jewelry. Hair accessories are popular with most girls.

Anything that is new for that year such as right now it is the FurReal pets that act like real pets and respond to voice commands. Girls of all ages like these types of things, they are a novelty and fun to play with. Electronic toys and items are usually popular such as I-Pods, digital cameras, and computers. Again think age appropriate.

Older girls like tanning beds, spa treatments, and gift cards to go shopping. Yes they are more spoiled than they used to be. They have been taught to start taking care of their selves at an early age, so skin and hair products are also popular with girls ages 14 and up.

Find an interest such as reading, and buy a book from their favorite author. Learning toys are popular also, because I makes learning fun especially for the ones ages 13 and below. Diaries and journals are popular with ages 11 and up.

There are a wide range of choices that you can find to buy for any girl. If there is something that they collect, add to the collection. You are on your way to making some girl happy.

Easy Science Project Using Pencils

Show how you can do electrolysis which is separating the hydrogen from the oxygen in water.

When you put some chemicals together in a reactive way they create electricity. You have seen this before because it is used every time you use a battery. This type of chemical electricity can be used to make things work like flashlights, toy cars, DVD players and more.

Water has oxygen and hydrogen within it. A molecule of water contains an atom of oxygen and 2 atoms of hydrogen. If electricity runs through water between electrodes of a battery you can split the parts of water into two. They are oxygen and hydrogen. When you have done this you did electrolysis.

Create a science project which separates the part of water.

You will need these items:

A nine volt battery

2 pencils

Salt

A glass tall cup

A piece of thin cardboard

Electric wire

Take your two pencils and sharpen both ends of each. You will have to remove the eraser and metal end before sharpening.

Punch two holes into the cardboard with the pencils and push them almost half way through the cardboard.

Put warm water into the glass far enough so that the pencil bottoms will be able to be submerged by at least an inch or two. Stir about a teaspoon of salt into the warm water until dissolved.

Using the electric wire attach one piece to the top graphite/lead of one of the pencils and to the positive part of the battery. Now cut another piece of electric wire and attached to the lead of the other pencil and the negative part of the battery.

Set the cardboard on top of the glass with the pencils hanging in the glass at one end and the other end of the pencils extend above the cardboard.

Now sit back and watch the electricity from the battery run through the pencils. You should notice small bubbles at the tip of each pencil submerged in the water. The bubbles you see are hydrogen and chlorine gases

Why would you see chlorine? A secondary reaction occurred. Oxygen does not release in this experiment. The reason for this is that oxygen combines with the salt in the water. Because salt has a chemical makeup of sodium chloride, the chlorine gas from the chlorine in the salt is given off. The bubbles you see are hydrogen and chlorine.

Enjoy the science project with your friends.

Back to Basics Living

Our children are growing up in a fast paced world very different from the world we grew up in. We have many great advancements and achievements to celebrate in our modern age, yet in many ways we have never been more challenged when it comes to raising our children. Today's parents must deal with the influence of media and marketing towards children like never before. Children and parents are bombarded with commercials, advertisements, businesses, popular magazines, best-selling books, an array of toys and other products that tell us how to make our kids the brightest, the most advanced, or to give them the most opportunities. Today's children have more material things than any other generation, yet rates of childhood depression, high school drop outs, and teen suicide are alarmingly high. Today's children have many opportunities and many disadvantages as a result of modern life.

The modern world brings vaccines and medicines to prevent or treat deadly diseases, technologies that have revolutionized the way we live, inventions and advancements that have prolonged human life and solved some of the world's largest mysteries. However, modern living can also be isolating, chaotic, turbulent, and unhealthy. We now have more pesticides in our food, more pollution in our water supplies, the highest obesity rates of any generation, we are further behind other industrialized nations in education, we are destroying our ozone layer, and seeing weapons of mass destruction being produced around the world. We've lost our since of moral duty, social conscious, and with it our character. Too many people are afraid to stand up for causes and injustices and just go along with their heads down to the status quo.

We need to take control over our own lives before we can effectively bring change in our overall communities. There is a strong need for us to take a look in the mirror and reflect on how we are living our lives. Are we raising our children to the best of our abilities or are we merely surviving parenthood? Why do parents feel the need to smother our kids with materialistic things? Why are our kids overeating? Why are the average Americans thousands of dollars in debt? Are we trying to fill a void? Are we trying to make ourselves happy by over consuming? If so, it doesn't seem to be working. Studies have shown that compared to individuals of the Great Depression era we have so much more wealth and luxuries, yet American's are no happier or content than they were during this impoverished time. For many of us, we've lost our sense of purpose. We are not living life to its fullest. We need to regain control of our lives and get back to the basics. Materialism can spoil values and happiness. At the end of our lives, most of us will not reflect back on our lives and regret not working longer hours, we will regret not building better relationships or establishing more values in which we live by. Here are some of my tips for living a fuller life:
You are what you eat. Learn to lessen processed artificial foods in your diet and rely more on healthy whole foods that are naturally found in nature.
Get active. Find some active things you can fit in your lifestyle and enjoy doing. If you enjoyed roller skating as a child, invest in some skates and spend a weekend on the nature trails. Take nature walks. Take up a new sport. Learn to play tennis with your spouse. Enlist family bike rides. Go hiking. Take an exercise class.
Establish a support network. You need both friends and family. Join organized groups with people who share a common interest. You might enjoy parenting groups, religious organizations, civic groups, or community centers. Reconnect with old friends from various stages in your life. Relationships are the foundation of life. They need you to nurture them, and work at them. They don't happen on their own.
Don't just spend quality time with your children, spend quantity time with them. Get on the floor and play with them. Attend and actively participate in their extracurricular activities. Know your children's friends and where they spend their time. Be involved in their school. Read to/with your kid's everyday.
Gardening has numerous benefits for people of all ages, particularly for elderly and young children. It stimulates all our senses through sights, sounds, textures, and scents. It can help us connect with memories and the past. Garden as a family. Get young kids and grandparents involved whenever possible.
Have arts and craft time daily with your kids. The biggest complaint most parents have about art is the mess. Learn to get past this. Keep a supply of crayons, markers, or paints in freezer type bags, purchase art paper or just reuse paper grocery bags. Make a time everyday to get these out and so something creative with your kids. Don't just put them in front of the art, get involved with them. Older kids might enjoy a more detailed craft such as building wooden models, or scrap booking.
Cook and eat together as a family. Most times you'll end up eating more healthfully than you would if you dined out, and you'll be forced to have some conversation as you sit at the dinner table.
Involve kids in running errands and housecleaning when appropriate. Even toddlers can help do chores around the house such as dusting, cleaning windows or hard surfaces with non-toxic cleaners. Running errands such as taking the dog to the vet, going grocery shopping should also be viewed as educational for kids. Get them involved by helping you make a list or pick out items from the store. We also enjoy taking our son to specialty stores such as a health foods store or pet store.
Get outside whenever possible. Bundle up and get out in cold weather, slather on sunscreen and get out in the summer, and put on your rain gear and get out in the spring and fall. Kids need outdoor play and having some of this daily is optimal. Dress for the weather and get them some fun gear such as sleds, rain boots, sand/water toys, bubbles to blow, and get outdoors. Don't just go to parks, experiment with going on nature walks and hikes, local arboretums or community gardens, large sport fields, etc.
Have holidays and rituals with your kids. Make these regular things they can have fun and expect on an early basis. You can not only do mainstream holidays but you can incorporate lesser known holidays such as Arbor day, Earth Day, seasonal solstices into your routine. Make a point in making the holiday's special and fun for kids.
Teach children to place less value on material things and play up the fun of little things. Make the first blooms of spring even more fun and exciting than getting a new toy. Instead of buying a new book, go the library each week and check out several. As soon as your child can write his/her own name, let them get their own library card. Take your kids somewhere you can feed ducks. Spend money on a membership to your local zoo or aquarium versus buying a new toy for a birthday or holiday. Remember, children learn from us--try to be conscious of how material we live our own lives.
Do community service work with your kids. Even from a young age, kids can be involved with volunteer work and learn about the community they live in. Visit a nursing home with your toddler. Go tour the local fire station with your preschooler. Have a best used party for your older child. They can have a fun party with their friends with snacks, games and fun. On the invitation have each child bring a sack of items such as lightly used clothing, winter coats, etc. then take the items with your child and donate them to a local homeless shelter the following week. The ideas are limitless.
Consider taking a pet into your home. Research to determine which type of pet best fits your lifestyle. Even something lower maintenance such as a hamster or goldfish can teach a child about unconditional love and the responsibility of caring for a living creature.
Have weekly family meetings where you can discuss any issues such as vacation planning to chore work together as a family.
Vacation as a family at least once a year. This need not be an expensive trip to Disney World--just a weekend getaway to something fun in your own state will serve a useful purpose. If possible, try to also take a vacation once a year just you and your spouse. Offer family members or friends a child swap where you take their kids for a few days and vice-versa and give yourself and your spouse a much needed break.

Tips For Bathing Toddlers

Bathing toddlers can be a fun and easy process. It is important to keep your toddler clean and healthy. Bathing is a critical part of this. My little boy has always loved to take a bath ever since he was born. Most toddlers look at bath time as a FUN time to play. They don't realize that at the same time their little bodies are getting nice and clean:)

There are some toddlers who do not like to take a bath. The good news is that this may change during this toddler stage and they could begin to like bath time. Until that time comes the name of the game is to use distractions. Here is a list of some distractions you can try to make bath time fun for your toddler and easier for you.

Some great distractions that can be used are as follows:

1. Bubbles. This is a given. Every toddler loves bubbles. Use their baby body wash as the bubble bath. Never use regular bubble bath or shampoo. It may hurt their little eyes or skin. Only use the same stuff you wash their little bodies with. Just a little bit of bubbles makes all the difference. It keeps them laughing and distracted.

2. Toys. Any kind of bath toys are FUN when bathing toddler. Especially the ones that fill with water and squirt the water back out. My son would get so tickled when I squirted the water back at him. You can buy toys and keep them specifically for "Tubby Time". Boats and duckies are a classic and still a hit with any child. It is so funny because my son is 3 now and at bath time he has more toys in the tub than water. (This is just a figure of speech LOL). You see my point he has grown to love his toys in the bath tub with him. It makes it fun for them and especially if your toddler is uncomfortable taking a bath.

3. Bath Paints and Bath Chalk. These are really great, but we do not use them every day. They are fun but sometimes can get a little messy. You can designate a day of the week for chalk and paint. It is fun for them to draw on the sides of the tub or shower walls.

You also have to remember to take certain safety precautions EVERY time your toddler takes a bath. These are very very important to ensure their safety at all times while in the bath tub.

1. Water Temperature. I can't stress this enough. Always test the water before you place your toddler in the tub. Use warm water. It should not feel hot to you. Remember when bathing toddler you cannot bathe your child in the same temperature of water you may use. It can burn them. Children are sensitive to hot water. My son likes the tub water to be a little on the cold side. So use caution and be careful when selecting the appropriate water temperature.

2. Water Level. There should only be a few inches of water in the tub. That is all that is needed. Toddlers can potentially drown in a small amount of water so be careful and judge appropriately.

3. NEVER leave your toddler unattended in the bath tub not even for a second.

4. Never allow your toddler to stand up in the tub during bathing time.

5. Invest in spout covers and a Bath Mat. The spout covers are fantastic!! They will cover the spout and the hot and cold water. This way in case your toddler hits their head on the spout it is covered and they are less likely to get injured. Also with the hot and cold water knobs they will not be able to turn the water on by accident. Prevention is the key. Make sure you have a kid friendly bathmat in the bottom of the tub also to keep them from slipping.

Something else I would like to share is about other additional items that are important to have for toddler bathing.

1. Toddler Soap. Use baby wash for their body and hair. My toddler is 3 and I still use baby wash when bathing him. It's great because the wash does not hurt his eyes and it also washes his hair at the same time. This way you only need to buy one product instead of two. The adult bath soap also tends to dry out their skin so just stick with the baby wash. Plus you can use the same baby wash for BUBBLES in the tubby. You see baby wash is the best and has so many great uses!

2. Infant Wash Cloths. My son is 3 and I still use the baby wash cloths. I love them. They are thinner and great to use. I always use two wash cloths when bathing toddler. One I use to wash his hands face and body. The other I use to wash his bottom and private areas. This is a personal choice just remember if you only use one washcloth than wash their face first and their bottom last.

3. Nail Brush. Dirt can collect under their fingernails and this is great to wash all of those germs out of there. Cleanliness and sickness go hand in hand so keeping fingernails clean is important.

4. Toddler Towels. The towels with the hoods on them are great!! You can wrap them up after their done and their whole body is covered. Then you can dry them off well and they are ready to go!! I have purchased lots of these towels and they are Nice!!

It is important to settle into your own personal routine when it comes to bathing toddler. Always remember safety first. Make it FUN for them. and before you know it, they will LOVE bath time.

Vending Machine Manufacturer - The Source Of Your Vending Machine

A vending machine manufacturer is the company that makes a specific type of vending machine. You will not come across manufacturers of several different types of vending machines, such as gumball machines and drink machines. This is why when you want to get started in the vending machine business, it is best to work through a vending machine distributor. The distributor purchases the machines you want from each vending machine manufacturer to offer you a selection of machines for your route.

Most people start out in the vending machine business start out with one or two gumball machines. This gives them an idea of whether or not they can survive in this type of business and the kind of money that they can make if they decide to expand. You will need to find a reputable vending machine manufacturer that makes coin-operated gumball machines. A gumball machine manufacturer usually has several different designs of machines for you to choose from.

Doing an online search is the easiest way to find a vending machine manufacturer with the type of machines that you want for your business. Usually a gumball machine manufacturer also has vending machines for selling all kinds of candy, small toys in bubbles and dried fruits and nuts. You can choose a gumball machine that dispenses one bubblegum, one candy or a handful of candies. You can also get these machines from which you can sell packages of candy.

The gumball machine manufacturer you choose can preset the vending machine to whatever price you want to charge for your product. When you purchase the machine from a vending machine manufacturer, you also get a warranty for a specified period of time so that if anything goes wrong, the repairs won't cost you any money. Along with the purchase of a vending machine, the manufacturer will provide you with an instruction manual so that you know exactly how to refill the gumball machine and how to make any minor repairs on your own. The warranty is something that you do have to really look at when you are investing in vending machines.

Although it is best for you to deal with a distributor, you need to do your homework about the vending machine manufacturer to make sure that this company does make good machines. The distributor will also help you install the vending machines so you are not left completely out in the cold when you are trying to get your vending machine business off the ground. A vending machine manufacturer only makes the machines - it will not help you get the best locations. That is also an important step in having a successful business.

As silicon molds without bubbles points

One of the biggest problems facing many small air bubbles form in its constructor is silicone molds. The bubbles in the silicone rubber itself is usually not a big problem. The problem is when air bubbles form on the surface in the form of casting unusable.

There are several methods used to ensure bubble-free silicone forms:

1) special casting techniques
2) The application of compressed air
3) Remove the vacuum> Blowjob
4) pressure to force air into the solution

Special casting technique.

The area, where materials are cast in silicone molds is the most important. E 'therefore important that particular care is given to ensure no bubbles when pouring silicone rubber in the shape of the carton and model. It 'important, not only over the edge of the rubber cast model at once. Start by pouring a small amount of rubber inpress box and begin downloading in various corners of the rubber makes you do all surfaces. This wets the surface of the model with a thin layer of rubber and all the air bubbles is easy to see and beaten with a pen or brush.

You can also apply a brush on the first thin film of rubber on the surface of the model. Select the method that works best for your silicone molds.

If you are satisfied that all air bubbles have been popped, you can paythe rest of the rubber mold in the shape of a. Pour as the venue as a fine spray so high in this pop bubbles in the mixture down the road. The objective of this current in a musty corner of the window and not on top of your template.

The application of compressed air to your silicone forms.

If you have access to an air compressor, you have an effective way of bursting bubbles. Make sure the pressure of 30 bar and a small nozzle tipand wet after the merger reduced the amount of rubber in the first blow box shape on the surface of the model in a manner similar to that of the first method. The first film of rubber should be free of bubbles.

Continue with the rest of the rubber in Method One.

Under a vacuum to remove air from silicone molds

Bubbles are generally the result of air beaten in the rubber during the mixing process. Be sure to stirMixture in a slow and constant action. There is still air in the mixture, however, and this can help with a vacuum chamber is removed.

with a vacuum cleaner to suck all the air bubbles, these vacuum chambers and bring the mixture to the surface, where it can be easily removed. Each vacuum chamber has its own instructions on how to use it, but the following is a guide:

1) Use a large container for mixing. Allow to double if placed inCamera.

2) Mix the two parts A and B in the container and place in the room. Close the chamber and start the vacuum pump.

3) The mixture will begin to climb to the top of the container. All air bubbles in the mixture increase in surface area, l '. As the mixture approaches the top of the container release valve, the mixture will break the vacuum and the pop and fall to the ground and the air bubbles. Do this 2-3 times to ensure that bubbles allbe removed.

4) Release the last time to vacuum and take the mixture from the chamber. Now it is ready for bottling.

The use of a vacuum chamber is usually only possible to set the mold for tires that take a fair amount of time. Some of the silicone rubber faster set quickly, and will not have time to get the air bubbles from the vacuum. Be sure to check the label on the product to use.

With the pressure waveSolution.

This technique is useful for faster adjustment to make rubber molds. It works on the principle of forcing air into a pressure vessel with rubber molding mixture. The air pressure will push down the material and release the air bubbles out.

The pressure vessels are freely available and are generally used by painters to paint. Here's how:

1) Select a box shape that fits in your tank. Also check the settingI know items for your mold making rubber, provided that you have to work.

2) Mix and pour the mold material in the mold box of the model.

3) sealing the pressure vessel and the pressure 60-100psi.

4) Allow the material of the mold, as indicated under pressure in the tank. Most mold rubbers work very well with this technique.

If you still have air bubbles after trying some of these techniques in contact with the vendor for moreTips for using the product.

Children and health - we must teach them

Teaching children about health and healthy life consists of two main components. The first component is to teach children healthy lifestyles. The second component is a healthy lifestyle in your own decisions and behavior pattern.

Bubble Products

Don't you think that there are more uses to bubble products lately? Bubble bags are used for more than just use wrapping ceramic items or covering breakable items. Several individuals have come up with different ways on how to recycle and reuse the bubble wraps for other functions.

The transparent plastic material with air-filled hemispheres is called bubble wrap. It got its name from the regularly spaced bubbles on the surface of the material. Aside from bubble wraps, there is also a bubble bag wherein the bubbles are either found inside or outside the bag. These bubble products are commonly used for wrapping breakable materials because it has a cushion-like feature. There are several sizes of bubble wraps available.

These days, more uses for the bubble products are coming out. One of which is that it is used for keeping cola and other drinks cold. It is easy to do this because all you have to do is to wrap the cold drinks with bubble products. This will keep the items cold for a longer period of time, especially during hot summer days. You can do the same thing to other frozen products like ice cream.

You can also use bubble wraps to protect your produce inside the fridge. Use your bubble packs to line the crisper drawer of your fridge, just do not paste or glue it in. This is beneficial in keeping your fruits from getting bruises. With the lined drawer, it will also be easier for you to clean it up. If you see that the bubble packs are dirty, just throw them away and use another set.

There are some patio plants that do not survive winter because of winter frost. In order to prevent this from happening, you can wrap the container of your plants with bubble products and fasten it with duct tape or string. This will work as an insulator and help keep the soil of your plants warm during the winter season. Just ensure that your bubble wrap has at least a few inches of allowance above the opening of the container.

During winter or on chilly nights, bubble wraps can help you keep warm. Put a large sheet of bubble product between the bedspread and top sheet. The bubble wrap works as an insulator. It keeps you warm because it preserves the warm air and at the same time, it releases the cold air.

One way to keep your tools lasting longer is to line your toolbox with bubble wrap. This will reduce the chances of unintentional wear and tear on your tools.

There are more uses for bubble products that one can think of. It is not just used for wrapping ceramics or fragile items any more. The next time you receive an item with bubble wrap or bubble bag, make sure that you recycle it. There are many ways that you might think of to use an ordinary bubble product.

A Child's Closet is Never Complete Without a Remote Toy

I am sure you have seen how a child's face can lit up the first time he sees a remote control toy move. The memory is priceless. His face is full of amazement and thrill. Suddenly, he can control how a toy moves, just like his Dad, or just like in the movies. A whole new world has just revealed itself.

There are so many kinds of remote toys in the market today. If you drop by a toy store, practically half of the boys' section is remote toys. There are cars, airplanes, trucks of all sizes, helicopters, boats, and of course, the robot. Which one is your favorite?

As a young child, the fascination of being able to control how a car moves will start him on the road to discovering how the bigger world works. Think about it, with these remote toys, you are encouraging a young boy to work his mind; to learn how things move and operate. For all you know, you could have the next engineer in your family.

Toys serve several purposes. They obviously are play things, but more than that, they expose children to a small version of the world. The remote toys today are so intricate and detailed, they are almost an exact match of the real thing.

Aside from being toys and being educational, these toys also enhance a child's motor skills. They learn balance and finger agility. Although they do not realize it, their depth perception is also being developed. This is such an important skill to have - whether in sports or in one's daily routine activities. For example, if you want your child to learn how to play basketball, it would be to his advantage to know how high to throw the ball to get it into the basket. That is depth perception.

Now, I know that remote toys are not exclusive for young boys. Girls happen to like them too, as well as male adults. It is actually amazing how many male adults cram their way inside a toy store to check out the latest models, designs or attachments. I know many men who can spend hours inside one of these stores, or surf the internet looking for their dream remote toy.

These days, the easiest way to do this is through the computer. Internet has really changed the way we live. Through the internet, you can look for a specific remote toy or you can find a person who can do it for you - also through the internet. In addition, payments are so easy to transact. The best part about doing your research this way is that you can do it in the comfort of your home - in secrecy or not.

Remote toys are here to stay. I would say it may very well be one of the best toy inventions of all time. It has survived through the years and transformed into the ultimate dream toy of every male, regardless of their age.

Tips on Creating a Fascinating Gallery

You can create a fascinating gallery of pictures or photo on canvas with the correct strategy. Using raw materials and a touch of ingenuity can spell all the difference between a drab gallery and a fascinating one. The following are tips on how you can do this.

Do away with the conventional

A gallery should display your fecundity for the arts. Do away with the conventional methods of displaying your work. Instead, think of novel ideas on how to arouse the interest of people. What about a multi-dimensional portrayal of the landscape photo? Vary the lighting in the pictures to focus the viewers' attention to the photo itself. Even market vendors use light to bring out the best feature in their products. You can do the same. Use colored lights if they enhance the pictures. If you want to sell a product, then flaunt it and promote it the best way you can.

You can create a bubble atmosphere in canvas photos for children. Debubblers are children's toys, which produce bubbles. They are cheap so you can use several of them. Of course, use them with canvas photos that are protected with glossy finish. The bubbles will heighten the effects of the canvas prints to viewers. You can use this in the children's section of the gallery.

Display fascinating canvas photos

To create a fascinating gallery, you must have fascinating pictures. Select carefully unusual pictures and place them in strategic places in the gallery. Consequently, take unique pictures that are not commonly taken. They may be about a common subject but use different perspectives or angles. You can also present a string of canvas pictures, which can slowly inch their way from one side of the room to the other. A simple pulley can do the trick for you. Do not obstruct the view of the other pictures however.

Make use of the wonders of technology

Use a rotating display table, or an LCD monitor to flash the rest of your photo on canvas. You need one darkened corner of the room to optimize the LCD presentation. You can also use a laptop or computer to allow visitors to select from your other canvas pictures, which are not on display.

Allot an area for on-the-spot orders

Your camera and backdrop should be ready in case someone wants an on-the-spot photo canvas. You can get one of your fascinating canvas wall photos and make it a backdrop of the photo shoot. Prepare at least three, so your customers can select. They should be big enough to create the impression that the person is really in that location.

Give small giveaways

At the exit, you can give small gifts for people who visited your gallery whether they ordered something, bought something, or not. These need not be expensive. They can be small useful things like ball pens, or highlighters. Make sure you give them your calling card. These are a few of the methods on how to create a fascinating gallery. There are still many techniques of making your gallery of canvas prints titillating all you have to do is to let your imagination soar.

Tips on Hosting a Fairy Hunt

Taking after both her parents, our daughter has always been a bit of a night owl. Luckily she has friends who share this trait. So with that in mind we opted to celebrate her 4th birthday in the evening by hosting a fairy hunt. It was a huge hit!

We used mason jars with screw tops as the "fairies". The jars were filled with stickers (I love the foamy twinkle letters, stars, and shapes available at Michael's) mini toys, bubbles, jewelry and candy available at the $1 stores or in the dollar bins at Target or general stores. NOTE: don't use chocolate... it tends to take on the scent of whatever it's paired with and sometimes foam stickers can be stinky.

To save time, fill the jars before the party. Before you hide them, break up a mini glow stick (glow bracelets also available at Michael's work great) and toss it into the jar and seal the lid.

We hid the jars in the front yard once the sun went down, but a park or field would work as would a house with the lights dimmed. The glowing fairy jars create a fun treasure hunt for the party goers and double as a great take away. To rule on the side of fairness we told each child how many "fairies" they could find.

Once the hunt was over we provided construction paper so pictures could be made with all the foam stickers, but the biggest hit was the glow in the dark bracelets.

The fairy jars will make a great addition to any fairy themed birthday party, but with a little tweaking the jars can be any kind of treasure hunt. No need to wait for a birthday for an evening of fun!

Summer Activities For Kids - Blowing Bubbles Can Be Fun

Do you remember when you were a kid and someone gave you a container of bubbles. If you were anything like me I blew through the whole container that same day. Bubbles are one of the greatest summer activities for kids. You are no longer just stuck with the little wands to blow bubbles with. You can spend part of your time getting ready with the kids making bubble wands. You can use wire coat hangers to make different shapes to blow bubbles through. You can even use bigger things to blow bubbles like a hula-hoop. Now I know what you are thinking what am I going to dip a hula-hoop into and where am I going to get that much bubble solution. Well both of those are very easy to solve issues. You can get a kids wading pool cheaply at the store. That will give you a big enough container to dip even a hula-hoop into.

The next step is to get some dishwashing detergent, water, and glycerin. You are going to mix these together to make the bubble solution. You can purchase glycerin and most drug stores and even some grocery stores. If you cannot find the glycerin you can still make it work without it. Now that you have the ingredients you can make one gallon of bubble solution with this recipe. Use one gallon of water, 2/3 of a cup of detergent, and 1 tablespoon of glycerin. Mix all of these together thoroughly. If you make this the day before and let it sit the bubbles will be stronger and you will be able to make bigger bubbles. Now that you have your mixture ready it is time for the best part of bubble summer activities for kids.

Last get all of the kids together with their wands for a bubble-blowing extravaganza. If you have a video camera you may want to get it out. This could make for a fantastic summer tape. The hula-hoop is one of my favorite tools. Dip it in to the mixture and pull it up where you can see a thin film inside of it. Now hold it up and pull it through the air. This is a lot of fun for the smaller kids because they can run and make bubbles. By the time you are finished everyone will agree that bubbles are one of the greatest summer activities for kids.

Children's Top 10 Toys For Christmas and Beyond

Every year there are top toys that become very difficult to get hold of. One example a couple of years ago was a very expensive robot dinosaur that cost parents a lot of money. Many friends I know of bought these for their children and after Christmas they were never played with again. So I'm not giving you here the latest results from the news on what is selling really well I'm giving you my own experience and the experience of friends who came up with this list of what we feel are the top ten toys for Christmas.

Firstly it has to be a traditional but ever popular toy, lego. Lego comes in various sizes depending on how old the child is. Large lego pieces are suitable for very young children as they cannot be swallowed and for older children more challenging smaller pieces. There are scores of different models that you can buy, often models that relate to films that have been on the cinema such as Indiana Jones and Harry Potter. I have found that vehicles always prove popular whether it be cars or rockets. The beauty of lego is that you can choose a box to suit your budget.

Next is a cuddly toy. Girls especially love these and whilst we tend to buy them for babies, it isn't until they are around the age of 5-10 in my experience that they really get the full comfort and adoration for them. Dogs and cats are always popular, nothing too large and anything that has a cute face and feels soft to the touch.

My third choice isn't cheap but my goodness the children just play and play this and never get bored of it. The Nintendo DS ( pink if you are buying for a girl!) is a constantly best selling toy and quite rightly. You can buy endless games for it. Most younger children from the age of 7 enjoy the virtual pets ones, expecially Nintendo dogs. They can blow bubbles for the dog to play with buy accessories such as ribbons for their fur, feed them and cuddle them. With certain games you can connect to another consule so children can play together with them. These are great for plane journeys, long car journeys and as a last resort will give you some quiet time at a restaurant if you are with adults that are keeping the meal lasting longer than the children would like! A great buy.

Number four is the new swimming Baby Born doll. Children from age five would love this to play with in the bath. It actually swims and then can be wrapped in a towel and dressed etc. I have found all girls to go through a phase of loving baby dolls. I have a seven year old that has asked for this for Christmas and yet last year she stopped playing with dolls. So if you know a child that is asking for a doll this one would be enjoyed every day and especially on bath days.

Number five is a board game called Jenga. It is suitable for boys or girls and for any age. You build a tower of wooden blocks and one by one you take it in turn to take the blocks out of a tower. Eventually they crash and you shout JENGA. It gets everyone together and although we have a cupboard full of board games Jenga is the one that my three constantly take out. Another excellent choice would be Connect 4.

Number six may not be described as a toy for Christmas but I'm including it as I know plenty of boys and girls that would love to have this to open as a Christmas toy. The Apple ipod comes in a huge range of colours and is still very trendy with children and teenagers. Younger children seem to find the Zen stone easier to use but older ones just love the Apple ipod and being able to see videos of their singers etc. It is lightweight and seems robust too. Also very easy to use.

Number seven is something, anything to do with Bratz. So much more popular than Barbie with slightly older children of say age six and above. I personally love the doll that you can style and put make up on. Comes in a good sized box too.

Number eight will be Barbie. Only for younger children. My ten year old girl loves Bratz but would be horrified to rececive anything with Barbie. My seven year old still likes Barbie but her peers have already moved to Bratz. So if you are buying for a child aged six or younger then I would stick to glamourous Barbie. Lots of dolls to choose from. Mine always liked ones that dressed in cool clothes rather than looking like a princess and the ones that have a dog or cat with them were very popular.

Number nine would be magnetix. Only for older children but for girls they do girlie pinks and pale coloured balls and for boys more primary based ones. The magnets means that you can construct and make all types of creations with these toys. Children also enjoy finding places within the home for these. I would never buy these if you have any younger children in the house as they are just begging to be swallowed by a toddler but for children aged eight and above these work very well.

Last but not least is a book for Christmas. If you know a child that likes to read look at the current best sellers and buy a book. My ten year old daugher loves Jaqueline Wilson and Meg Cabot. My seven year old girl is currently a big fan of Enid Blyton and my twelve year old loves Garth Nix and Charlie Higson.

All the toys above have been popular with not only my children but friends' children too.
You can find pictures of the toys mentioned on www.helpful-ideas.com

Merry Christmas x

Active Dog Toys

An active dog is a healthy dog. A good way to keep your dog getting the exercise they need is to find some good active dog toys. It probably wouldn't hurt you to get a little more exercise too. The traditional stick or toy thrown and retrieved works as good as anything.

But sometimes owners have a physical limitation or may not be able to get out and even walk their dog, let alone start exercising with them. Have no fear since in recent years dog toy makes have been hard at work with coming up with new active dog toys.

Some are manual, some are automated, but all provide a great way to exercise your dog on a regular basis. We've done a little research and have some of the most popular active dog toys listed below:

Bubble Machines - Evidently dogs love to chase bubbles. There are several products that spew bubbles for your dog to chase and pop. These machines are easy and you can even add flavor to the bubbles. They start around $13 and go up to about $30.

Ball Launchers - These come in all types and shapes. Some are hand operated, some look and perform like a tennis practice ball launcher, some look and work like a sling shot, and even tennis racket models. They start at around $10 and go up to $35.

Frisbee Type Toys - Frisbees have been around forever and there are lots of new types and special feature models now available. Some make noise, flash lights, have streamers, and some are super soft to make it easy on your dog's mouth. These start at about $10 and go to $20.

The good thing about these types of toys is that it helps your dog use his natural skills and burn off some extra energy and calories. Some of these toys require a good amount of space that is free of obstructions and any dangerous terrain. That goes for busy highways or streets too. Always make sure the area is safe for full tilt running and there are no possible manmade dangers.

The drawback with the automated versions is they need batteries. And the ones that make bubbles need a water source close by and some type of soap to make the bubbles. The manual ones are low maintenance and can be used anywhere.

The idea behind any of these toys is to get your dog more active and provide some exercise to help keep the weight down and the muscles toned. Probably doesn't hurt the owner to get out and about too. Both the dog and the owner can participate with many of these toys.

And you can always rely on the good old basic stick to throw and let your dog retrieve. Or even make your own version of the stick with any plastic or wood object from around the house. Our dog loves an old piece of rope that we had left over from a tree swing we made for the kids. Anything that throws easy and the dog can get in his mouth will work. Just make sure there's nothing on the device that will be harmful like paint, splinters, or sharp edges.

Active dog toys are great for taking your dog out and getting some exercise for you and the dog. From the most simple stick to any of the newer high tech models, all will get the job done.

Summer Fun Days in Preschool Sunday School

Sunday school does not stop when school is out. In fact, many Sunday school classes actually see a rise in attendance during the summer months when people are visiting churches and attending Vacation Bible School. If you are a preschool Sunday school teacher, then here are some fun ideas to bring into your Sunday school class during the summer months.

Host a water party:

It is always hot during the summer, so why not have a little "cool" fun in the water. Make sure you tell the parents ahead of time, so the kids can come in a bathing suit or old clothes. This is one time when Sunday dress is not appropriate. Set up a couple of small kiddie pools outside and fill with water. Give the kids small squirt guns (or squeeze bottles), sponges and other water toys to play with. Have some water games to play, such as a water balloon toss. You can even put objects in the water and let them experiment with what will sink or float.

Bubble Fun:

You can also go outside for a bit of bubble fun. There are all kinds of easy recipes that will help you make the biggest bubbles ever. Fill a kiddie pool with bubble solution and let the kids go to town. Place a hula hoop inside the pool and have the kids stand inside. Bring the hula hoop up around the kids very slowly and they will find themselves inside the bubble. You can also make a variety of bubble wands out of clothes hangers and even large pipe cleaners.

Teddy Bear Picnic:

Have each child bring their own teddy bear and go outside for a teddy bear picnic. Bring all the yummy foods that bears and kids like to eat such as biscuits and honey, Teddy Graham crackers and fresh fruit. Spread out a blanket and find a place in the shade for a fun time.

Indoor Campout:

Stay cool and have an indoor campout right in your classroom. Pitch a tent small enough to fit in your class (but big enough for all the kids). Sit inside and have puzzle time and story time. Give each kid their own flashlight and teach them some new songs. You can even make a pretend camp fire using rolled up construction paper as logs. How about s'mores for snacks? You will need graham crackers, some chocolate and of course marshmallows. Roast the marshmallows over a candle, or stick them in the microwave.

Remember that just because school is out doesn't mean that your class can't learn at Sunday school. Take a look at your weekly Sunday school lessons and find a way to incorporate some of these fun summer activities into your class.

One of her favourite things is to do is jump in large muddy puddles. She can be quite bossy, often taking a lead role in school activities and games with her friends, and can be a bit mean to her little brother George who seems to cry a lot with rainbow-like arcs of tears. Peppa's favourite toy is her Teddy, while George's is "Mr Dinosaur," and one of his traits is that he can only say "Dine-saw".

Playing it Safe: Great Toys for Baby Gift Baskets

Most importantly, unless you are positive as to everything you want to buy, you will want to purchase your gift basket last. You do not want to have to choose what you will give based on the size of the basket you have already bought.

Select an assortment of the safest toys for the baby.

A few great ideas are to purchase items such as classical or other instrumental music to play in the nursery, perhaps even some sing-along music, for when the child gets a bit older and begins to imitate speech.

Another idea is to buy the baby a mobile. These items, however, are very popular for baby showers, so check with your other friends to make sure the mother is not bombarded with dozens of mobiles.

The best books for infants will be waterproof and therefore drool proof. If books are a part of the child's life from the beginning, he or she is more likely to become a more intelligent individual. So even at the earliest stages of a baby's life, books are important. Books with different textures, colors, and things for the child to touch like little flaps that lift to reveal something once the child is touching and investigating and not sucking on everything in sight.

Teething rings. Believe me mommy will need them. There are great teething rings available that the child can hold on his or her own and that will help soothe the pain of teething without having to use too much medicine to numb the baby's gums.

Another great idea for toys to include in a baby gift basket is of course, things like rattles, mirrors for the crib or playpen, and maybe even a crib or playpen--what a gift that would be! Of course, you will want to see if the expecting mother already has a crib or playpen for the baby first.

Walkers are perfect for the new baby, not only to help him or her learn how to walk, but also as another place to play if the baby gets sick being in his or her playpen or crib. There are walkers that also function for eating, bet the better ones I believe are the walkers that have toys attached to them. This way the baby will stay entertained, and you will not have to worry about picking up dropped toys.

Another great idea for gift baskets for babies is to get a bottle of bubbles. They are non-toxic, of course, but even the smallest baby will be enthralled with the bubbles floating down.

There are many kinds of baby toys out there that you could include in your baby gift basket. I hope some of these ideas can help you.

Baby Gifts for New Born Stars

Finding a suitable gift for the new born is mind-boggling. New born babies don't do a lot of playing, but soon start to explore the world around them. High contrast toys and play mats are designed to help the child to pick out differences in shapes and patters, stimulating his visual development. Bright colours, patterns and interesting texture attracts the baby towards the toys. Some toys play music and letting the baby follow the sounds. Objects that move slowly and produce a gentle sound are far more interesting to babies than that are fixed and silent. There are various new born gifts available in the market which is suitable for both genders. Toys for babies are often made of soft cloth. Such cloth developmental toys are stacking toys and musical toys. Baby gifts also contain hats, sweaters, rompers, booties and socks which are used for both baby boy and girl.

A new born gift contains anything such as baby dress personalised with lots of ribbons and laces, baby cosmetics items like baby creams, baby massage oil, bubble bath, baby shampoo, baby lotion and baby cream. Unbreakable mirrors will help the baby to feel its own reflection fascinating. Wind chimes can be hung so that the babies can watch them move and listen to the sound. They can also be hung over the cot, so that the baby can watch them before drifting to sleep. A feeder set for the baby, which includes baby bottle nipples, mini feeders cleaning brush, feeder cover, cleaning gel, sippers and thermo flask will be of great use.

Some of the common baby gifts are diapers, crib sheets, stroller, pram etc. There are different types of diapers but the most bought ones for the new born are cloth diapers. Diapers come up first in the chart when it comes to shop for baby gifts. Diaper bags are very helpful as they help in storing bottles and diapers when they take the baby out. Crib sheets are easy to get on and off. They have soft cotton top over water proof bottom. Some of them are machine washable; this super absorbent fabric holds up to 4 cups of liquid and not necessary to remove the bumper guard. Prams are used mostly for mall walking. There are single, double and triple prams. In some there are break attached to both rear wheels with a bar. Some contains wrist brake worn by the parent to prevent the pram from rolling, when stopped for longer periods. Teddy bears are one of the most favourite baby gifts which any one would buy and also gifting specially designed musical CDs and cassettes that help a newborn baby fall asleep. Good bears of 15-19 inch with a personalised fleece hat and fleece blanket packed in a gift box will be a good baby gift which a baby possesses.

Baby gifts can be decorated by our own and make it a unique one. We just have to choose a beautiful wicker basket and fill it with items a new born baby needs. Choose a couple of diaper packets, booties, soft toys, towels of light shades, and a small teddy bear. A gift coupon presented to the mother would be the best as in she knows what the baby exactly needs. Baby friendly cover versions of songs written and sung by various artists are available which help the new born baby to fall sleep will be a suitable baby gift to be presented.

Traditional Toy Market Remains Vibrant Across Britain

The UK has the world's largest toy market in terms of spending per child - last year each youngster received on average some £216 worth of new toys. According to market research company Key Note, the overall UK toy market was worth an impressive £2.09 billion last year, after a period of consistent growth between 2004 and 2007.

Despite the problems caused by the economic downturn, Key Note reported recently that the market remains vibrant, due to an ever-increasing child population in the UK thanks to a rising birth rate. Family sizes are getting smaller and people are becoming parents later on - two factors which mean more disposable income to lavish on their children.

Against this background, traditional toy suppliers have a great opportunity to carve out a niche; offering high-quality products for parents who want to move away from the plethora of high-tech electronic gadgets and licensed tie-ins with cartoons and children's films.

The British Retail Consortium reported last month that July 2009 saw sales of arts and crafts increase by 4 per cent across the UK toy market, in a signal that many parents are looking to more traditional pursuits during the school holidays. Of these sales, crayons, pens and paints manufacturer Crayola was the undoubted leader, taking almost £1 in every £10 spent. However, Spin Masters' Moons and and Flair's Plasticine also saw healthy sales.

The BRC also said that building sets experienced a sales boost, as parents sought to stimulate their children's creativity. Lego remained comfortably on top, owning nine of the top ten toys in this category, and only Mega Brands' Mega Bloks Maxi prevented it from scooping all ten places, coming in at number nine.

With over 600 different companies involved in the market, however, competition remains fierce. International giants such as Bandai, Hasbro, Lego, Mattel and Tomy dominate in the stores, although the demise of Woolworths has caused a vacuum, which canny suppliers are rushing to fill.

The other fast-growing part of the toy market is, of course, online retail. Companies such as The Imagination Station are positioning themselves to take advantage of the growing trend for online shopping - as well as the backlash against electronic toys and games consoles.

Powerpuff Girls Party for your Little Girl

Those three little Powerpuff Girls, bubbles, Blossom and Buttercup make the perfect team, when they aren't arguing about something that is! Even though they usually end up arguing about who gets to play with what toy, in the end they always get their bad guy or gal.

You can get your kids to have a great birthday or just a plain old holiday celebration by using the Powerpuff Girls theme, especially if it happens to be their favorite show. Don't despair if you aren't sure how to put this together because there are lots of Powerpuff Girls party supplies available for you to use.

Start by looking for paper supplies themed after the cartoon. You should be able to find some tablecloth covers, paper plates in different sizes, napkins and probably some Powerpuff Girls cups. Just using these items will add a lot to the theme of your party.

If you plan on having a cake at the party you can probably get the local bakery to create a Powerpuff Girls sheet cake to match with the rest of the theme. It may cost a little bit extra, but those bakery cakes usually taste fantastic so it's worth the price.

You can use the predominant colors of the television show to add to these party supplies with other items. There is a lot of pale blue, green and pink. So get some balloons in the right colors if you can't find Mylar balloons themed after the Powerpuff Girls. You can also string up some streamers around the party area. Twisting two different colors of streamers together really creates a great decorative effect.

Lastly don't forget to top off the theme by purchasing some Powerpuff Girls themed party supplies. The kids will love stickers, temporary tattoos, and themed pencils and coloring books after the miniature superheroes. Add a little candy for that sugar and spice!

Under the Sea Fishy Water Party Game Ideas to Make a Splash

If your little mermaid is looking forward to her Under the Sea party here are a few ideas for splash-tastic Under the Sea party games. You can use these as a start for planning a great Under the Sea party.

Giant Bubble Blowing Contest Under the Sea Party Game

The first thing you will need to make is the magical bubble juice and the bubble wand.
For the wand you'll need a wire clothes hanger, bent into a circle. The more perfect the circle the better the bubbles will be. Twist the hook away from the circle so it can be used as a handle, and wrap it with electrical tape to cover the sharp ends. Wrap the circle in cotton twine so it can absorb more bubble juice so you can make bigger bubbles. Mix water, liquid dish soap and glycerin together and stir with a wire whisk. Let this mixture needs to sit for 24 hours. Depending on what size bubbles you want to create, pour the mixture into a large pan, or buckets.
You can have different prizes for different categories of bubble making. The biggest bubble, the longest lasting bubble, the funniest bubble and so on. Prizes can be anything at all, but I suspect a seashell necklace would be a big hit!

Landlubber Relay Race Under the Sea Party Game

This is just like a relay race, except your guests are wearing swim flippers, face masks and snorkels! The racers have to switch out the flippers, face mask and snorkel instead of passing a baton. Make sure every one understands the rules about just how "dressed" they have to be!

These Under the Sea game ideas are just a start; with a bit of creativity, other games can easily be adapted to suit. Your little mermaid and her friends are sure to have a wonderful time!

A Bubble Blowing Activity that will Blow the Kids Away!

I bet you haven't given this blowing bubble activity any thought as a child party activity?

I'm not talking about little kids blowing little bubbles from those little containers - no, I'm talking about blowing HUGE bubbles. I bet you didn't even know that it was possible? Yes, your bigger kids and their friends can have a lot of fun with this blowing bubble activity and what's more, it's inexpensive too... especially if you know how to make the right bubble solution and tools.

I'll give you a few recipes to try out and also a couple of tool ideas. You can have lots of fun experimenting with the mixtures and creating your own original bubble making tools.

Bubble Tools

There are so many things around you that can be used to make bubbles. Wire hangers bent into different shapes, empty milk containers, string, plastic bowls, or even your bare hands held in the right position. Make a circle with your thumb and index finger or make an even bigger circle using both hands' thumbs and index fingers.

Bubble Solution

The really big bubbles need lots of solution which can get quite expensive. It's therefor a lot more economical to mix your own.

The best detergents to use are Joy and Dawn detergents but you need to experiment to see what works best for you.
You also need either glycerine or white Karo Syrup. This ensures colorful, sturdy bubbles. Glycerine can be bought from most drug stores, but it is expensive. Karo Syrup is available at the grocery store and is less expensive.

Amazingly enough, not any water is suitable! Hard water does not work whereas soft water does. Try using your tap water, but if you fail to get good bubbles, try using distilled water.

Solution 1:

1 Part Dawn Ultra/Joy Ultra : 15 parts distilled/soft water : 0.25 part glycerine/white Karo Syrup

Solution 2:

1 Part Regular Dawn /Regular Joy : 10 parts distilled/soft water : 0.25 part glycerine/white Karo Syrup

Solution 3:

2 Parts Regular Dawn /Regular Joy : 4 parts glycerine : 1 part white Karo Syrup

Most importantly - just have FUN!

Baby Bath Tubs - Do I Need to Buy One For My Baby?

It is easy to get carried away and buy your newborn everything they could possibly ever need. However, some things are more essential than others. A baby bath tub is one item that really can be made obsolete by you or your baby.

Some things you need to think about:

Cost

If you are going to buy a baby bath - shop around. Baby baths can cost anything from $10 to $100's (if you fancy splashing out on a roll top bath for your baby), and really depend on whether you want something stylish, or just practical.

Ease

We used a baby bath and the sink. It depended on who was bathing him. The baby bath could be used on the living room floor - until he started to splash too much! The sink was handy for a quicker bath.

Baby preference

For a while our baby developed hatred of bath time, we didn't know what to do He was about 1 1/2 and for no apparent reason at all, he seemed to be scared of water. He wouldn't use a baby bath or our bath at all. The only option left to us, was to top and tail him until the phobia passed. It worked, but it just goes to show, when YOU think something is OK for baby - they might have other ideas.

Alternatives

There are many ways to bath your baby.

In the adult bath - once your baby can sit up without assistance.
In a tummy tub or bucket bath - the 1st time you see these they look like very strange items. A tall tub that baby sits in, in the fetal position. As it replicates the womb; babies love them!
In a bowl in the sink - be careful to keep baby's head away from the taps In a baby bath with a support - these have a shaped sloping support that helps keep your baby more upright, while allowing them the freedom to splash around
In a regular baby bath. Probably the most common method.

Accessories

There are so many accessories you can buy from toys to baby bathrobes:

Toys - I really wanted my baby to have plastic bath ducks - but this was for me not him - he had absolutely no interest in them whatsoever! It was only as he got older that he started to want toys in the bath.
Bubble bath - again this is really only for when they get older. A newborn baby needs plain water for their bath - their skin just doesn't need anything in the water. Non slip bath mats - always a good idea if your child is using the bath
Baby shampoo visors - brilliant if your child starts to hate having their hair washed. It stops water running down their face and into their eyes when you rinse their hair.
Bath seats, these are great for that time when your baby is too big for a baby bath but too small for a regular bath. They can sit in a bath seat and be supported, but still have freedom to splash about.
Bath mitts and sponges, Mitts are great for washing the little ones, but a flannel or a sponge is all you really need
Bath toiletries, generally all you need is a bottle of top to toe wash for a small baby. All the talc, shampoos, bubble baths, are no good for their skin, and they really don't need them.
Baby bath robes and towels. Keep baby's towels separate from your own. Also, it is lovely to have a nice new towel to wrap them in after a bath.

Space

For me, space was an issue. Baby baths are big, our house was small. It just made so much more sense to use the sink with a bowl in it while our baby was small.

Safety

NEVER EVER leave your baby unattended in the bath. It can take a tiny amount of water and a couple of seconds for a terrible accident to happen. If you have to leave - take your baby with you.

Wet Or Dry Vinyl Lettering Installation

If you have recently purchased a vinyl lettering product you may be wondering how to install your purchase. Vinyl lettering can be installed easily using two basic methods. There is the wet method and the dry method. The wet method involves using a soapy solution and a squeegee, while the dry method involves using just a squeegee. Either method will leave you with a clean professional looking installation.

First off, it is highly recommended that you try a couple practice runs with small pieces of vinyl to get a good understanding of the process involved in vinyl installation. Most reputable vendors will include a small vinyl decal that you can use for practicing.

For either method start off by washing your hands. It's important that no dirt or residue be introduced to the application process, it can cause imperfections and reduce the tachiness of the vinyl. Remove your product from its packaging. Vinyl is susceptible to hot and cold temperatures, causing bending and warping of the vinyl, so make sure you're vinyl lettering is flattened. You can accomplish this by laying it out on a flat surface and running your squeegee back and forth across the transfer tape. Alternatively, you can also roll the vinyl in the reverse direction that it was shipped until it lays flat on your surface. Flattening the vinyl helps ensure it will go on flat and prevents wrinkles from forming and making it unattractive.

With your vinyl flattened out you want to ensure the application surface is clean as well. Always assume surfaces are dirty until cleaned. You can simply use a mild detergent for cleaning the surface. If you don't ensure your surface is entirely clean you can be left with small bubbles that are referred to as vinyl pimples.

Once you have a clean surface, place you're vinyl where you wanted to go and use masking tape to create alignment marks to keep it straight during the installation. Once you're happy with the alignment remove the vinyl from the surface and get ready to make the final installation.

Now take two small pieces of masking tape and place them near the center of the vinyl, at the top and bottom, this will hold the vinyl in place while you are removing the backing tape and using the squeegee to install it. Replace the vinyl on the surface using the alignment marks to guide you.

For the wet method you first need to make your solution. Mix 8 ounces of water with four to five drops of common household dishwashing soap such as Dawn or Palmolive. Never use more than 10 drops of soap to 8 ounces of water, too much soap can cause problems during installation. Using a spray bottle, hold one side of the vinyl up while you spray the solution onto the surface. Now you want to cut half of the backing tape from the vinyl and transfer tape, then use your squeegee to smooth down your vinyl onto the surface. Use firm pressure but not so much that you'll damage the vinyl or tear the transfer tape. Once you're happy with the first half remove the other half of the vinyl backing. Spray more solution onto the other side and use your squeegee to smooth out the other half.

The dry method for applying vinyl is exactly the same except you don't use any solution. The dry method is recommended on small vinyl projects that you can easily work out any bubbles from. The wet method allows air bubbles to slip out more easily and is preferred for larger vinyl projects.

Once the vinyl has been smoothed out with your squeegee slowly remove the transfer tape from the surface. If there are any air bubbles remaining in your vinyl you can use a small sewing needle to puncture holes in the vinyl and continue to squeegee out the air bubbles. These small holes will not be visible in the finished product. Vinyl is a very flexible and malleable product that will tend to close up any small imperfections such as needle holes.

If you need to reposition any part of the vinyl, you can try to use a heat gun or hair dryer to get some of the tackiness back to the vinyl and help it stick a little better. Heat is also good if you want to try to "push" the vinyl around and work it into a different position.

Now you're left with a clean professional looking vinyl installation. Again, it is recommended that you practice a couple times before attempting your first installation. If you don't have a squeegee on hand, you can also use a credit card or rubber spatula to help smooth our any air bubbles.
